I know nothing about who or what is guilty and wrong.

My comments are on fidelity to the Church, even when she is being harsh and stubborn.

Many, mangy saints have been wrongly accused, mistreated, etc. but..... they became humble and endured.

This is lacking with Fr. Corapi.

Thanks BlatherNaut and for the opportunity to correct my own words -> “I was an addict (alcoholic)” is wrong. I’m a recovering alcoholic and that will never change into past tense. AA is a lifetime program. Fr Corapi built up resentment against some of the Bishops and if he neglected his program one can perhaps understand what happened/happening. One doesn’t have to go back on alcohol or drugs to become spiritually deprived one just has to disobey God. Prayers are the answer for most people but if one finds oneself in AA or NA it’s where God put us and no amount of *prayers alone* no matter how often, will make Him happy. I discovered that the hard way. Now I keep Him happy. :) All that being said, it’s only my opinion - his sponsor would know, if he still has one, that’s the person he needs right now to help guide him with his decision-making. He needs medical and psychological care, peace, quiet, time to reflect, build up his inner strength, time to gather his wits, as one can see he’s scattered all over the place, and so on. Inside he’s full of fear and scared to bits.

Resentment is the “number one” offender. Resentment destroys more alcoholics than anything else. From it stem all forms of spiritual disease, for we have been not only mentally and physically ill, we have been spiritually sick. When the spiritual malady is overcome, we straighten out mentally and physically. In dealing with resentments we set them on paper... Page 64 Alcoholics Anonymous.

“Having resentment is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die” — Malachy McCourt

And it was resentment that brought me to my knees.

I’ve turned him over to God.

Um, no doctor worth anything at all is going to diagnose on the internet. And if you’re not a doctor, practicing medicine without a license was illegal the last time I looked.

Oh gee did I claim it was anything but my opinion? No I did not. Did I just pull it out my doctor denton’s? No it was based on behaviors that have been described to me by people who do suffer from such an ailment. It was only an opinion based on anecdotal evidence from others. It was not and never claimed to be anything but.

It was in case you missed it sympathetic towards Father Corapi no an attack on him.
