While it was foolish to believe that a man could have known when the Rapture would occur, it is sickening to see the absolute glee which many people are displaying toward the misfortune of the people who put their faith in this man and then spent their life savings. There are people who will totally turn away from Christianity now because their belief in this man was unfounded, and will now be led astray.
It would do well for Mr. Camping to reflect on Matthew 18:6:
"But whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depth of the sea."
Sorry but these people are fools and are reaping their rewards....this is what happens when you put your faith in men!! They may blame Christianity but the real blame lies in their stupidity!!!!
As these people were cultists, placing their faith in a different gospel, a different Jesus, and different grace, they weren’t Christians to begin with. They are no better and no worse off than unbelievers, except they should now see the truth more clearly than most. Probably a remnant will.
