wow....how amazing is God in His timing! i’ve recently been engaged in a serious discussion on this topic of women serving as pastors and what a spiritual battle it has been.

clearly this pastor has chosen to ignore a clear reading of the Bible.

but this matter goes to a higher level i believe. it is indeed part of the apostacy the Bible predicts will increase in the End Times. This defiance of some women in society today is nothing new as it began in the Garden.

We are also seeing the influence of modern day feminism, which has distorted the role of women, making inroads in the church today. This is what happens when you allow a little sin to creep into your life and the life of the church. It’s no wonder the church is in the shape it is in today.

the question is this.....does the Bible really say what kate said? the answer is no of course.

this sin...as all sin does started off like it did in the Garden of Eden.

Satan starts off with a lie to Eve.

Did God really say you couldn’t eat from any tree of the garden?

Eve correctly answered, but Satan is very clever and tries a different tactic.

You surely shall not die! God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and bad.

Just enough truth built on top of a lie and the rest is history as they say.

This sin of rebellion continues today as some women refuse to honor the Biblical call of submitting and loving their husbands. Now guys, we have a tremendous responsibility to our wives to love them as Christ loved the church.

Some women really bow up on this issue of submitting in the proper Biblical context. And part of that problem I blame on the church because the church has not properly taught these passages!!

When is the last time you heard a sermon on this topic? Pastors are afraid to preach the whole word in fear they may offend someone or lose membership.

Well guess what?! God doesn’t allow us to pick and chose which parts of the Gospel we like and don’t like. If our pastors would preach the Word this would begin to remove the rot in the church.

We need to pray for our pastors that they stand in the gap and bodly proclaim the Word.

Hmmm.

Is the Catholic Church going to stand alone on this issue?

While I think it’s terrible what is happening with regards to youth being molested in the Catholic Church, I never see the same reports from other churches of different denominations.

Is it possible that it isn’t happening in Protestant, Lutheran, Episcopalian, etc. churches? (I find that hard to believe)

Or is it being covered up? Or worse yet, acceptable?

Besides, more importantly, this is talking about the gay mafia attacking Christians -- I don't particularly care that this is now the Presbyterians (with whom I have the strongest of theological disagreements), but that these are still CHRISTIANS

If you wish to see why we should not be denominationally minded when the pinkos attack any Christian denomination, read this article Pro-homosexuality foundation pours millions into Catholic and mainline Protestant dissident groups

So, please don't degenerate this into a Catholic versus Presbyterians or a Presbyterians versus Pentecostalist fight -- we have other threads for discussing those theological issues.

Instead focus on the fact of the common threat -- or we'll be like fools when the pink mafia knock off one church after another

I only seem to see the ones attacking Catholic priests. Except here on FreeRepublic.

The other news stories are short lived and brushed aside by the media.

At least that's what I see and hear in my neck of the woods.

I agree with your assessment. I wasn't trying to put one church against another. Just pointing out what I, personally, have seen and heard.

It seems as if the media is quick to recognize and glorify churches who welcome homosexuality as a normal function of their faith.

Typical liberal propaganda.

True -- and there's a reason for this -- the Media is leftist and they think that if they get the big guy (the Catholic Church) down, they can easily "dispose" of the others

Plus, it makes for good news, saying that "De Katlick Church" instead of "Pastor Joe from Wanamazoo", right?

I disregard them as much as I disregard the constant articles now stating how "all Presbyterians really want gay ministers" -- both are equal rot.

plus, don’t forget this, when the Media say “Catlick molesters” — they use it to smear ALL Christians. If you notice any such news article, they angle it in such a way to make people disregard Christianity as a whole.

While I agree that all molestation of children is terrible there are other facts:

The most probable pedophiles in order are:

Fathers
Teachers
Coaches
Protestant ministers

Priests are way down on the list.

So if a father is a teacher of mid-high history, coaches the girl’s basketball team and is a youth minister at his church on weekends/Sundays — watch out! He would be much more prone to pedophilia that any priest.

Facts About Child Abuse

Injured teddy bear.

  • 84 percent of prison inmates were abused as children.
  • One in three girls and one in five boys are sexually abused by an adult at some time during childhood. (Most sexual abusers are someone in the family or someone the child knows, not the proverbial stranger with a lollipop.)
  • Families with four or more children have higher rates of abuse and neglect, especially if their living conditions are crowded or they live in isolated areas.
  • More than 80 percent of abusers are a parent or someone close to a child. Child abuse is far more likely to occur in the child's home than in a day care center.
  • One in thirteen kids with a parent on drugs is physically abused regularly. (Drug and alcohol abuse in the family makes child abuse about twice as likely.)
  • One out of ten babies born today are born to mothers who are abusing drugs. Drinking and smoking heavily during pregnancy also endangers the health of unborn children.
