“Isnt the whole point of jude not lest ye be judged yourself that you should not judge someone’s faith, unless you are ready for your own faith to be questioned?”

First of all, Christ was addressing the unsaved in that speech, not Christians, so in that context, your interpretation fails. How could His warning concern faith when His warning was directed to those without faith?

Now, compare this warning to what Jesus says in the story of the adulterous woman: “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone”, whereas here he says “For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged”. The two thoughts are parallel and logically congruous, so I think it’s a fair assumption that Christ is talking about the same thing, namely the hypocrisy of sinners judging other sinners.

Even if you don’t agree with that logic, it’s simply not possible for that to be a command not to judge other faiths. Instead of being forbidden to judge, Christians are appointed to judgment in the New Testament, and in fact are prophetically praised for exercising specifically spiritual judgment over those claiming to be Christian themselves (in the letter to the Church of Ephesus in Rev. 2:2):

“2I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:”

Now, this exercising of spiritual judgmnent is listed amongst the good attributes that God recognizes in this church. He is complimenting them for judging, not rebuking them!

“Judge not lest ye be judged.” is the most misquoted/misunderstood and taken out of context phrase, in the Bible and the one most used by the unsaved/unchurched, to try to tell us not to use our God given gift of discernment.

Your explanation was excellent.

Well; since believers had yet to be even CALLED 'christian', you are TECHNICALLY correct. But since this is part of the Sermon on the Mount, a discerning soul would have figured out that there would be a VAST amount of 'believers' in the crowd; right? Matthew 7:1-2

Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Nope. I can judge everything and am required to do so - judge everything against the Word of God. The only thing I cannot judge is the condition of your heart, that alone is God’s to do.
