That's the key thing to me. Knowing how intricate his plan for people and events over thousands of years was, the plan that brought His only son to be sacrificed for us, is a blessing in itself over and above the portions of Scripture you're studying. The more you understand how interconnected His Word and plan is, the less youll ever doubt that He does watch over His own and does know when even a sparrow falls.

There is a tendency among some to cite snippets of Scripture out of context to prove or disprove any single position. The tragedy of this is that it reduces the Word to a thing or an it. As Pope Benedict XVI so aptly puts it the Word is a who; it is Jesus, the Word incarnate. He is the context.
