In time of difficulty one of the most important things if not the most important thing is what you speak out of your mouth. In this instance we'll see what the Bible says about times of sickness. In Proverbs 4:20-22 it says "My son, attend to my words; incline thy ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh." The word health is translated in the Strongs Concordance as- a medicine, a cure, a remedy, healing(health). If you keep God's word in your eyes, in your ears, and in your mouth it will produce healing or health in your body. Proverbs 12:18 says "but the tongue of the wise is health", the tongue of the wise is the tongue that speaks God's word. Proverbs 16:24 says "Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones." Notice in all of those scriptures words produce healing in your body.
Proverbs 15:4 says "A wholesome tongue is a tree of life". That word wholesome is translated as the word health in the previous verses. Notice a wholesome tongue, a tongue that brings healing to your body. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and you will eat the fruit thereof (Proverbs 18:21). Sickness comes under death and healing and health comes under life. Death is anything that takes away from a quality of life and life is anything that adds to a quality of life and they are both in the power of the tongue. Understand the word of God is quick and powerful (Hebrews 4:12). And God and his word are one so what God can do his word can do (John 1:1). God's word always has the power to heal (Psalms 107:20). And if you believe, according to your faith be it unto you (Matthew 9:29).
And happiness occurs between the ears.
Awesome encouragement, thanks!
Very interesting! Thx!
And in the chest also (which I guess is why the human heart has since prehistory been thought of as such a center of action/emotion/love, etc).
Great reminder, THANKS!
As Rush has always said, “Words mean things.”
This is most especially true for those in authority when speaking words over their subordinates, charges, parishoners, or family members.
I heard someone tell a story recently about a man who performed an experiment with cooked rice. He took two mason jars and filled them each with a cup of cooked rice from the same batch and sealed them with the lids. He labeled one jar “Good Rice” and the other “Bad Rice”. He put both in the refrigerator on the same shelf next to each other and every day for two weeks he would open the door and pick up each jar. To the jar labeled “Good Rice” he’d say things like, “You are the most fantastic rice I’ve ever made. Your flavor is like no other I’ve ever tasted. You are the best of the harvest. Wonderful.” To the other jar labeled bad rice, he say only the most repugnant things, like you’re a rotten batch of rice. You are disgusting and diseased. You look terrible.”
So the story goes, after two weeks of this, he opened the mason jar of “Good Rice”. It was still fresh and edible. The opened jar of “Bad Rice” had to be pitched because it was all moldy. He swore this was true. I’d like to try it, myself.
It’s true for mammals, though. If you speak over them kindly and make affirmations of worth and health and integrity, you’ll find it heals and calms and edifies not only temperament, but the physical functions. If you brow beat and tear folks down, they’ll have aches and pains and illness — real or imagined — will have a harder time recovering. That’s for real.
So Paul and Timothy did not do this? They both had physical afflictions. Paul in particular asked three times to have his "thorn in the flesh" removed, and God did not choose to do so.

Explains Obama’s verbal assaults on this country for the last 3 years eh?

True humility is something so alien to that thought process, you would never be able to de-program people to understand what it really means.
He may also believe in superficial things which translate into his approach to all things — superficial analysis, superficial platitudes, superficial research which then require artifice which may be why a teleprompter is required. Once again, he is not alone in this. I know a lot of folks who are distracted by shiny, brightly colored things. They're distracted easily and usually are described in the kindest possible way as “painting with a broad brush”.
It has to do with what you've been trained up to recognize as good, solid values. He WOULD be the second Messiah had he come out of that childhood with those friends, mentors and neighbors in possession of the ability to distinguish superficial from the real thing.
MEGoody Paul’s thorn was not a physical sickness, he said it was a messenger of Satan that’s an evil spirit not a sickness. And it was not up to God because he already had authority over evil spirits in the name of Jesus. Thanks!
So some believe. Nevertheless, we know Paul had trouble with his sight. Gal 6:11 says "See what large letters I use as I write to you with my own hand!" We also know that Paul dictated several letters to others rather than write them himself.
So again, Paul had an affliction that God chose not to remove.
MEGoody Galatain 6:11 says “You see how large a letter I have written unto you with my own hand”. Referring to the letter itself not the size of the alphabets used. And also remember Paul was in prison perhaps that’s why someone had to write for him. And as far as God choosing not to remove them, sometimes it’s up to you sometimes people choose to suffer, but you can’t say God chose not to. Just like in Philippians 1:21-25 Paul said he didn’t know whether to go be with Christ or to stay here, but notice the choice was his and he choose to stay here. Thanks
