Can you please explain why you are posting non-scriptural books/verses under the title “Bible Reading”?

Ping to chapter 2: Mathathias gets angry and starts the war!
The army of king Antiochus (verse 32) went to make war with them on sabbath day, knowing the Jews would not fight. And the Jews stood TRUE to the commandment and were all slain without a fight.
But in verse 41 we see an analoguous answer to a question that I think was raised on another thread "is it ok to lie to save a life -- is it still a lie"

verse 46 “And they circumcised all the children whom they found in the confines of Israel that were uncircumcised: and they did valiantly” — from this point on the Jews stood fast against those who wanted to take away their faith.

Maccabees would make a great movie.
And even the most KJV exclusive Protestants should read, enjoy and be inspired but the story. “The Hammer” wasn’t some congress critter, he was one of the most ‘kick a$$ and take names’ leaders in all of recorded history,

Cronos,
Do not ping me to a Catholic thread, especially an ecumenical thread.
Thank you.
