An Afghan physiotherapist will be executed within three days for converting to Christianity.
Said Musa, 45, has been held for eight months in a Kabul prison were he claims he has been tortured and sexually abused by inmates and guards.
Mr Musa, who lost his left leg in a landmine explosion in the 1990s, has worked for the Red Cross for 15 years and helps to treat fellow amputees.
He was arrested in May last year as he attempted to seek asylum at the German embassy following a crackdown on Christians within Afghanistan.
He claims he was visited by a judge who told him he would be hanged within days unless he converted back to Islam.
But he remains defiant and said he would be willing to die for his faith.
He told the Sunday Times: 'My body is theirs to do what they want with.
'Only God can decide if my spirit goes to hell.'

We gotta quit propping up these kind of governments.

God bless the martyr.
...and this is how Islam maintains superiority in their Islamic republics....through brute force and terror...
If Islam were to go away today - I predict about 80% of the violence in the world would end immediately...
just saying...

How much money does our country send to that violent, savage hell hole?
While we’re at it, how much money do we waste on the other middle eastern hell holes?
So why is the US propping up this regime at a massive expense? Remind me again why my kids are supposed to watch my country go bankrupt to make an Islamic Republic out of Afghanistan?
We made a mistake by converting them to democracy too fast. And not insisting on freedom of religion.
There is no freedom of religion if you are not free to apostate. There is no freedom of speech if you can not tell people that you have apostated. There is no freedom of religion or speech, if you have to worry about crossing a blasphemy law.
Amen!
If this happens, we should pull all US forces out of Afghanistan and cut off all aid. I am sick of US blood and treasure being wasted on a bunch of savages from the 6th century.
Go on Katie Couric, tell us again how Islam is misunderstood and just want peace like everyone else!
Stupid &itch.
We are in Afghanistan doing what, exactly? Isn’t their legal code officially sharia compliant? We should have stopped this.
Sadly unsuprising.
Yeap - the press leaves out the “Islamic Republic” and only states the Afghanistan part when referring to that country.
As it is with Iraq as well - it’s IR of I -
the area is a great filter to learn all about Islam and Moslem strategy - but helping them we are not. We should be there toppling their infrastructure in order for the tribes and clerics to be so suppressed - that they abandon Islam once and for all - and leave the tribal system where it belongs - in the 7th Century! Sounds cruel and not so PC - but it’s their way or our way...and I choose the system that was laid down in Philadelphia in 1776!
OH, I forgot, he's a Christian - and one that converted from Islam - right. He MUST die -
You have no problem with that, right...
Where is the Christian outrage? Muslims behead those who draw a cartoon of Mohammed. We sit mute as our brothers in the faith are martyred. “Turning the other cheek” is a convenient excuse for laziness and apathy.
When we face similar persecution, we will wish someone had spoken in our defense.
The man is facing being killed, simply for converting. The NYT link at the bottom of this post includes some info on Masa, and makes mention of yet another man being arrested after he gave a bible to a "friend".
An earlier thread;
Red Cross Abandons Employee After Hes Arrested For Converting to Christianity
unfortunately does not lead to a "source" article at the "weaselzipper" source cited. I dug around there for about half an hour, then widened the search to the source mentioned at "weaselzippers" and found another item on this same man;
http://www.persecution.org/2011/02/07/afghan-rights-fall-short-for-christian-converts/ which gives some additional background, including a portion of a NY Times article, with a useless, non-copy&paste link, that leads to a NYT sign in page.
Further noodling lead to something of side-door access (through google search of exact title) to the NYT article allowing one to see the first of two pages;
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/06/world/asia/06mussa.html which in typical NYT's style, soft-soaps the info, lathering it up the best they can. With tough stories like this, it's difficult. But they can fall back on implication, and omit info concerning the so-called lawyers the man had never seen -- because they never showed up --- because if they DID show up --- they would be MURDERED just like the Pakistani politician who dared oppose the death penalty for a woman there accused of blaspheming Mohammad (may pork be upon him).
Also, I had mis-named the man. Should have been Mussa, not Masa. I couldn't recall the name exactly, typed what I thought to be close but knew wasn't exact, then failed to re-check and edit as intended.
“We gotta quit propping up these kind of governments.”
This!
If Bush made one mistake regarding the MiddleEast its thinking that these people welcome freedom. They do not understand, care for, or desire *anything* other than theocracy.
The paraphrase FDR, The place may be run by a SOB, but he is OUR SOB...
Isnt this Obamas war? Obamas SOB?
Egypt and the kettle. Madcow, take notice, if it is at all possible for you to think for yourself.
The NappyOne
It is sad to think of all the American lives sacrificed, not to mention the treasure, sacrificed for these savages.
