The thing I don’t get is why people think it’s morally justifiable for Asian cultures to eat dogs on the grounds that Westerners eat chicken and beef. A dog is not a chicken. These people cannot face up to the fact that there are some cultures in the world that are less advanced than others.
I’m glad to see the author, Matt Kennedy, has found solace and refuge in scripture. The lesser creatures have hope. They were subject to vanity because of the fall of man. God did not create anything for futility and oblivion. John Wesley and Martin Luther had a few very compelling things to say along these lines, too, based upon scripture.
I was profoundly affected by the death of my own longtime friend and companion, a Lab named Woody, in October of 2007. I have complete faith that he’ll greet me when my turn comes to leave this world.
They are part of the family and as such, it is painful to see them go.
A memorial to her is at Maggie's YouTube Memorial
My sympathies on your loss. I too, lost my baby (see tagline) in July. It was sudden and ugly. She waited for me to get home to her before she passed. She was my rock after losing my mom 3 yrs earlier. We mourned mom together. Now I mourn Sandy. But I did get another dog, completely opposite of Sandra Sue. Sandy was a chow/rott mix and weighed 90 lbs. Cody is a Shitzu and weighed in today at 7 lbs. (4 mos). I too believe we shall all be together again in heaven. I know Sandy is with my parents just waiting for me so we can be together again.
this is a such a sweet song about the greatness of both God and his creation of man’s best friend. Hope you enjoy it.

Wally is a great dog name. We used to have a Daisy. Also we had a Towser, my favorite dog name of all time. Now we have Eli, Belle and Abby, all english springer spaniels.
Matt Kennedy has a great website.
Thanks, the loss was not mine. It was Matt Kennedy’s the author of the original article.
The article gave me comfort because I know that fairly soon I will be facing the loss of a dear friend. My lab-rotti mix who is going on 18.
18???? Wow . . . just incredible. Any special diet you’ve employed?
It would not be Heaven if there were no dogs there.
She has been on the raw food diet for about 8 years and she hass done very well on it.
I enjoyed that very much. Thanks.
I saw Andrew Wommack present that song on his program a few weeks ago, and I love it. I am grieving my Mom at this time, and go to that video to remind me of God’s love (even though my Mom is gone, her dog is still here!).
The song’s a tear-jerker, isn’t it?
Thank you for posting - I know a few people who have lost pets in the past few weeks, and this will be of great comfort to them.
She had such a sweet face. Thanks for sharing that.
I’ve had a bunch of pets; herds, in fact. I suppose in the Regeneration I will have a herd of ‘em all at one time. I do hope they will graze instead of me having to feed them, though. I’ve bottle fed puppies, kitties, and cared for them when they were sick or hurt; so really, I hope pet care will be much easier in the next life. Is this silly or what?
I really like “Rainbow Bridge”. I can imagine my black cat Panther getting a deli package of turkey from Kroger’s every day.
Glad you liked it! We are thinking about adding another pup to our household and this song convinces me even more.
I am so sorry for your loss! Glad you still have her pup to give you comfort.
We shouldn't, but we do. How else can you react to a companion that will sit with you when you've had a bad day and offer unconditional friendship.
