what? no I am not joking! Personally I don’t care for the man. He is fine just where he is in the pro life agenda, that is my opinion, but I was asking Chode to weigh in on his opinion because he is opinionated.

I think if we want to win the issue, we should indeed be advertising. But the graphic ads as the family sits down to watch dancing with the stars is going to be counterproductive. What you will sell people on is that we are a “loony fringe”.

We shouldn’t make it simple for them to put us in that box where they feel good about ignoring us.

Advertise, yes,,, but remember the super bowl ad where the Quarterback thanked his mom,,, and she had been advised to abort him? That had a nation talking,,,and it was impossible for them to counter. If stopping abortion is the goal,, we must be smart. Madison avenue smart,,,

How about a painful appeal from a woman who aborted,,, along the lines of the Yul Brenner ad,, as he was dying of cancer, said “whatever else you do, don’t smoke”.

We have some very powerful ads we could run that could be productive in changing minds and hearts,, The graphic ads are offensive to generally all but the true believers, and we already have them.

Another powerful ad was the “Obama would have probably been aborted” ad. 18 year old liberal college girl, pregnant by a 3rd world guy who abandons her,,,no employment, etc,,, That was powerful, because they knew to a certainty, that he would be aborted today.

I bet if such a campaign started, we would be stunned at the well-known and productive people who’s mothers were advised to abort for all kinds of reasons.

A smart ad campaign could do a lot for the cause. As a final example,, the ads for global warming with bloody homicides of deniers only helped US. We were able to show that they were deranged. They quickly recognized that the ads were counterproductive and pulled them.

Graphic ads during DWTS is a good idea. *laughing* I do not care for that show; have only watched it maybe twice. But I know what you are saying; it's just a shame that those ads don't affect people real strongly. Yes, the football player one was good. There seems to be different ways though to grab the attention of folks.

I had an abortion myself, and could never come to terms with it (this was decades of silence and shame), and believe it or not, it was a Truth Tour (where they show very grisly photos of abortion on large placards to passing by motorists), that got me on the road to recovery. That's what it took for me to break down and then get help. So the ads Missy Smith showed and Randall Terry would like to show more of, help more than just the potential abortion-receiver; they help to heal the women who have already made a grave mistake. Once we heal, we can then help others, but not before.

Fighting for the baby has zero to do with Randall running for president.

Yes, that’s the only reason he’s doing so; to show graphic abortion ads.

If this guy can keep the “truth trucks” driving by the abortion clinics, and keep trailers with ultra sound units parked nearby (done free of charge) he will be winning the fight against abortion. Most of the time when a woman sees the baby in the ultra sound that is all it takes!

More on Terry:
My wife and I spent several hours with Randall Terry yesterday discussing his possible run for president against Obama in 2012. Despite the fact that many in the pro life movement will see this as a ‘stunt’, attention seeking or a massive fund raising effort, this effort will bring about MINIMALLY a real conversation and exposure to the true nature of legalized child killing that neither the Church nor the ‘mainstream’ pro life movement have ever done before. For those of you in the D.C metro area, you are well aware of the impact Missy Smith’s ad’s had on the last election cycle, Imagine this at the national level! This country has NEVER SEEN THIS, and it will do more to bring about the necessary dialogue than anything tried before. Link.

And he’s not looking to justify anything, just explain.

What is there to explain? That he abandoned his wife and children for a younger woman while preaching "family values" to the masses? That he was disciplined by his church so he took up, first with some Episcopals then with the Roman Catholics? That he then disavowed his first marriage ala the Kennedy clan? He said, “There were tragic problems that were inherent to the marriage, According to Catholic doctrine as it has been taught to me, those problems made it an invalid sacrament.” A man in search of self-justification.

Sad indeed are those who still consider him a moral leader of sorts. Only in America.

He's signed up with Free Republic, and although he's very busy, maybe he'll catch this ping and leave you some commentary, in this regard.

But like I said previously, you probably would consider St. Augustine a moral leader as well as Fr. Corapi? Why forgive one and not the other? Here's a great book that's free online that Randall Terry wrote. Explains things better than I could.
"In honor of His Holiness Benedict XVI," A Humble Plea, by Randall Terry.

FATHER CORAPI’S LIFE TESTIMONY ROCKS!

I ponder who the girlfriend was that he had.
I am guessing Natalie Cole, pure speculation, not fact.

I just watched her bio movie of her life testimony.

Fr. is the farthest thing from evasive in sharing how far one can fall from God.

He’s incredible for sure. I try to watch him every time he’s on EWTN (Saturday nights). He brings hope to so many. I like his story of how his mother sent him (when he was completely at wits ends) a letter (or maybe it was by phone) to say just one, only one Hail Mary a day. And the rest is history. I’m doing the same for my own kids, and believe it or not, we’re up to a decade most days reciting together (and these are kids that no longer go to Mass), but Mary is leading them straight in that direction. She’s got their backs, I’m certain. :)

More from Randall Terry (12-6-10):
Dear Pro-life Friend -- As you may know, I am strongly considering running for President. I am getting many letters giving me advice...

Why would I consider running? Well, I tell it plain and simple on my TV show today. If you live in one of the 11 markets I am seen, you can see me tonight. If not, watch the show at 4:30 P.M. eastern at http://www.TerryCast.com.

I am interested in your feedback; I will personally read every email that comes in, but only if you have watched the TV show that explains what the issues are.

In other words, if you will take the time to watch a complete show - dedicated to the WHY of such a huge undertaking - I am interested in your feedback. (If you will not watch the show, please do NOT write me. If you respond to something without knowing what you are talking about, the Bible says it is "sin.") ...

But like I said previously, you probably would consider St. Augustine a moral leader as well as Fr. Corapi?

I do not know this Corapi of whom you speak, but Augustine’s “moral failings” happened prior to his conversion to Christianity. He received forgiveness for those things at the cross at the time of his conversion.

Such is not the case with Mr. Terry who abandoned his family and committed adultery by marrying another while publically claiming a relationship with Christ and His church (of which he was an officer at the time, BTW). If Terry ever publically acknowledged his moral failings, with appropriate signs of repentance towards his family and fellow believers, in the face of his public excommunication from the church, then I must have missed it.

True repentance involves more than just writing a book and fleeing to another sympathetic congregation.

I would imagine (because it’s part of becoming a Roman Catholic) that he went to Confession. Just like Augustine!
