[CATHOLIC CAUCUS] Traditional Feast Of Saint Joachim, Patriarch
Recta Ratio ^ | 8/16/2010

Posted on 08/16/2010 6:30:08 AM PDT by markomalley

In the traditional Ordo, August 16th is the feast of Saint Joachim, the father of Our Blessed Lady. The Novus Ordo has moved his feast so that he and his spouse Saint Ann share what had been her feast day in July. Of course we know next to nothing about him, and have no idea when his actual death date is. So any feast day is pure speculation. And in fact, even before Vatican II, poor Saint Joachim, our spiritual grandfather, has moved all over the calendar.

Saint Joachim, please pray for us!

I was born and raised a Catholic but...isn’t there a religious forum on this site? This is the 12th Catholic Caucus thread you’ve posted this morning on the main News/Events forum. I understand your enthusiasm but this is really over the top.

Actually it is on the religion forum. In fact, if you look, you will find that all the threads I post about religion are on the religion forum.

If you click on the News/Activism tab, you will not see any religion threads at all.

I wish that the site's software was able to filter out all religion threads by default (only displaying for those of us who are interested in them), but it doesn't.

This thread is posted in the Religion Forum.

If you do not wish to see RF posts, do NOT use the "everything" option on the browse. Instead, browse by "News/Activism." When you log back in, the browse will reset to "everything" - so be sure to set it back to "News/Activism."

Mark, I apologize to you. Apparently, it's my settings that are to blame and not you.

Again, I'm sorry.
