The Church has always held that the Blessed Virgin Mary is the true Arc of the Covenant, the Arc of the Old Testament was but a shadow of things to come.
While any Catholic church is a temple dedicated to the housing of Jesus Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament, the Blessed Virgin Mary was the most fitting temple, where He resided for 9 months, and whose heart was always united with His. His dove was holy, spotless, and without blemish.
Another title of the Blessed Virgin Mary is Seat of Wisdom. While Jesus Christ is Wisdom and Truth itself, Mary is the Seat of Wisdom, insofar as she is the most perfect human soul ever created, perfectly compliant to the workings of the Holy Spirit. She told us that she was the handmaid of the Lord at the moment of the Incarnation. Philosophy is also known as the handmaid of theology. It is no accident that the best theology arises from not only a strong Faith, but also a sound foundation in classical philosophy. Mary, the Seat of Wisdom, who is always serving the Lord, also fosters classical philosophy leading to sound Theology in the many institutions dedicated to her. Every Catholic institution which has drifted from their Marian orientation has suffered from a descent away from Orthodoxy. Mary, the Seat of Wisdom, might be considered a guardian of Orthodoxy with regard to the development of Sacred Theology. In places where she is despised or denigrated, the theology becomes somewhat juvenile.
