Franklin Graham, conservative cause celebre (thanks to Sarah Palin)
The Washington Post's Right Now ^ | April 23, 2010 | David Weigel

Posted on 04/25/2010 10:10:38 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sarah Palin has, in her inimitable way, moved the Army's decision to disinvite evangelist Franklin Graham from a Pentagon National Day of Prayer Service into Conservative Outrage of the Day territory. She writes:

His comments in 2001 were aimed at those who are so radical that they would kill innocent people and subjugate women in the name of religion. Are we really so hyper-politically correct that we can’t abide a Christian minister who expresses his views on matters of faith?

Palin never names the comments -- Graham, the son of evangelist Billy Graham, called Islam "evil" and "wicked" -- and leaves out the important point that Graham keeps talking like this. Here's Graham five months ago, criticizing President Obama for praising Islam.

[T]rue Islam cannot be practiced in this country. You can't beat your wife. You cannot murder your children if you think they've committed adultery or something like that, which they do practice in these other countries.(continued)

I guess "speaking truth to power" and "patriotic dissent" ended on January 20, 2009...

I wonder why 0 took time out of his busy day transforming America to visit Franklin’s father? Hey Billy, rein in your kid? Hey Billy, I need some cred with the evangelicals?

Graham, the son of evangelist Billy Graham, called Islam “evil” and “wicked”

And that is wrong how?
The lame-stream media like the Washington Post, CNN, cBS etc, have no problem at all, calling honest, hard working, overtaxed Tea Partiers “evil, racist, hate mongers”, yet have a problem with Islamic crazies who continue to slaughter Americans, being called “evil”?

Ummmm... yeah, Franklin Graham -- that sounds about exactly right ... And people have a problem with the truth being spoken? Apparently some do... :-)

Christianity dominates America - freedom reigns for nearly 200 years. Christianity, or more properly Christ, gets shoved aside, freedom disintegrates. Christian/Christ brings freedom. All else brings bondage, particularly Islam. Islamic nations do not allow for freedom - though their people clearly crave the little amount they have tasted. Pray that Christ is brought back to the forefront of American and then International life.

Maybe he went, to try to convince Billy Graham that "my personal salvation depends upon collective salvation?"

We are becoming a forced neo-secular society. It really is a case where radical liberalism becomes the replacement which is why I say “neo” secular. There is an insistence that Christian and conservative thought is not appropriate for public consumption while liberal ideology is celebrated and pushed forward in such things as “Earth Day”, “Queer Day”, “Ethnocentric Day”, etc. It also presents a new tribalism in which what it is to be an American is secondary to the identity politics of an individual. Many will stand up to fight when their pocket books are affected but their is far too much silence when the very right to speak ones mind or disagree is threatened which is exactly what this kind of thing is because this was not a military decision it was a political decision driven straight out of the white house and anyone who does not believe this is deluding themselves.

The left is consistently one of the most intolerant hateful groups in this country. They pretend insult and rage against phantoms all the while with the real goal of permanently shutting up, shunning, fining, and imprisoning anyone who dares deviate from their deviant goals.

The truth is that Sarah Palin had very little to do with America becoming very aware and very alarmed at Franklin Graham being excluded, under the reign of the apparent usurper who brings fellow Marxists into the White House, goes to Muslim ceremonies, and spurned the National Day of Prayer, last year.

Rev. Gaham has, heretofore, declined invitations from obyummer to visit him.

however he INVITED Sarah Palin to his home for dinner and a visit.

That had to've frosted the little messiah. I Imagine he has been determined to have a visit.

There was a wonderful video of Sarah's visit with Rev. Graham - and a touching moment between Rev. Graham and little Trig.

I wonder how much we will see of Obyummer's visit? So far, I've only seen a still photo...I have an idea he didn't get as an affectionate welcome as Sarah - even tho' Rev.Graham would be gracious - not because of who obyummer is, but because of who Rev. Graham is.

And I doubt he was invited to dinner.

Whose "truth" is that?

Sarah and Franklin Graham have been close for many years - he has been to Alaska many times - She's been very connected to the family. Only natural she'd speak out - and she a large audience and following - over a million and a half just on facebook alone.

- SHE, unlike obyummer was invited to the Graham home for dinner and a visit...obyummer had to keep inviting himself - and got turned down before.

He finally got in -

Wiegel hates, loathes and despises Sarah Palin. If she said today is a beautiful day, he’d find reason to criticize her. He’s just an a$$.

Palin just reminds me on how pathetic the rest of the gopers are. The others try to get along and not rock boat or invite wrath from the media. They’re all frighten of the media. All they care about is their career.

Sarah just put out a tweet slamming the media for ignoring Obama’s millions from Goldman Sachs:

“Hey Media: want 2 earn some credibility?U hammered Bush 4 Enron contributions, but ignore GoldmanSachs 10-fold influence on Obama?Change that”

"[T]rue Islam cannot be practiced in this country. You can't beat your wife. You cannot murder your children if you think they've committed adultery or something like that, which they do practice in these other countries."

All this makes me wander if liberals really don't like it that here in our Judeo-Christian Nation women can't be beaten by their husbands. Or that American men can't murder their children if they think they've committed adultery. And I would imagine that since Iran's president pointed out that they don't have gays in their country, and some have guessed that means they don't have "live gays", then one could imagine that liberals hate gays too.

I mean why else would they complain about what he said. Hmmmmmm.....

Once again, you seem ride to Sarah Palin's rescue, full-tilt at whatever windmill you can find.

This was not a slight at your damsel of devotion, sir knight. It was a mere statement of face value. The alert and alarm were already out there in America, over what happened, by the time Sarah Palin wrote about it.

(The Gov. is doing fine without your throwing yourself at whomever you might tell yourself must be attacking her.)

Sarah speaks; the media quivers. The Democrats are certainly glad she’s a small town hick, with no political power.
