Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem~The Book of Daniel

Daniel 1

1. In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah
came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem,
and besieged it.

2. And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand,
with part of the vessels of the house of God:
which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god;
and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.

3. And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs,
that he should bring certain of the children of Israel,
and of the king's seed, and of the princes;

4. Children in whom was no blemish,
but well favoured,
and skilful in all wisdom,
and cunning in knowledge,
and understanding science,
and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace,
and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

5. And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat,
and of the wine which he drank:
so nourishing them three years,
that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.

6. Now among these were of the children of Judah,
Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

7. Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names:
for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar;
and to Hananiah, of Shadrach;
and to Mishael, of Meshach;
and to Azariah, of Abednego.

8. But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat,
nor with the wine which he drank:
therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

9. Now God had brought Daniel into favour
and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.

10. And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel,
I fear my lord the king,
who hath appointed your meat and your drink:
for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort?
then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.

11. Then said Daniel to Melzar,
whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel,
Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,

12. Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days;
and let them give us pulse* to eat,
and water to drink.

13. Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee,
and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat:
and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.

14. So he consented to them in this matter,
and proved them ten days.

15. And at the end of ten days
their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children
which did eat the portion of the king's meat.

16. Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat,
and the wine that they should drink;
and gave them pulse*.

17. As for these four children,
God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom:
and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

18Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in,
then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.

19. And the king communed with them;
and among them all was found none like Daniel,
Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
therefore stood they before the king.

20. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding,
that the king enquired of them,
he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.

21. And Daniel continued even unto the first year of king Cyrus.

Oh LORD, Our God, How Excellent is Your Name over All The Earth!
How Wonderful You Are,
How Holy and Righteous and Just in Your Judgments!
You Alone Are Worthy To Be Praised,
For you Alone Are The One True God!

We Thank You For This Wonderful Book,
With so much to teach us for today.
We Thank You for the Integrity of Daniel and his Companions.
We Thank You For Your Promises, Which Are Eternal,
And For Your Mercies,
Which are New Every Morning!

Abba, We Thank You for the Remnant Who continue to Love and Support Your People,
In Spite of the Current political Climate.
We THANK YOU for people like Elie Wiesel, who are Finally letting their voices be heard.
Thank You For Showing Us In Your Word, Father,
That You Were Watching over FOUR Children,
In the vast Babylonian Empire,
Because They opted NOT to "go with the flow."

Number us NOT with those who whisper lies to Your People.
Those who say "Peace and Safety" out loud,
but who inwardly plot against You and Your Beloved!
We ask You to Intervene in the Affairs of Nations,
And Change the Direction of Our Own.
We Plead With You, That Our Leaders will be Led by You
with regards to Our Own Country's Policies Towards Jerusalem,
Or That You Will Remove Them.
We Plead That Your Will be Done,
On Earth, As It Is In Heaven.

Father, We Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise,
We pray for an END to Lies, Slander, Blood Libel,
Propaganda, and Antisemitism against Your Beloved.
We Pray For An End to Slavery, Hostage-Taking,
and Piracy wherever it is Practiced Around the World.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews, In Bondage in Hostile lands,
Especially in Egypt, Somalia, Europe, Pakistan, Iraq and Iran.
And PLEASE, Father, As I Pray This,
and see The USA descending ever more into Another Babylon,
I Pray for Jews and Christians in MY OWN COUNTRY!

We pray for the lost Children of Esau and Ishmael,
That they will throw down their weapons,
And embrace the One True God of Abraham,
For We Know, It is NOT Your Will that ANY Should perish,
As You have said in Your Word.
And We Believe Your Word As it is Written.
Not as Someone ELSE TELLS US it says. (Selah)

We Plead For Israeli Control Over All the Holy Sites in Israel,
So that People of All Faiths may visit them.
We Pray For Bibi Netayahu, and the Leaders of Israel
May They Receive Wisdom from You to do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Today we Begin an Epic Journey Through The Book Of Daniel.
This was Inspired by a letter to the White House that was Posted on this Thread Yesterday.
The Book of Daniel begins with the Conquest of Jerusalem, and Four Jewish Youths being kidnapped to Babylon.
Yet, even in overwhelming conditions, they maintain their Identity, Their Language, their Faith, their Culture, and even Their Dietary Laws.
And Remember, THESE WERE JUST KIDS!
Quite a story.
Come and pray For the peace of Jerusalem, and be blessed!

Daniel is a totally awesome book!

Beth Moore’s Bible Study on Daniel shows how in that Book, God laid out exactly to the month and week and day the exact date of Jesus’ birth and then His entry into Jerusalem on what we call Palm Sunday - and I believe it also gives the exact month and year of His RETURN - but don’t have all that with me right now.

Daniel - what a book! Jesus quoted from Daniel - regarding the end times - “when you see the abomination that causes desolation standing in the Holy Place, flee to the mountains...etc etc etc”.

Jesus was speaking both about the precursor to the AntiChrist (Antiochus Epiphanes (sp?) who desecrated the ancient Temple of Israel and of the the future ANTICHRIST who will, as the abomination of desolation stand in the rebuilt Temple of Jerusalem and declare himself god and demand to be worshiped.

This Antichrist is ABOUT TO BE REVEALED ON THIS EARTH.

As your thread showed yesterday - 5770 - this YEAR is the YEAR of God’s Kingdom coming on this earth in all its fullness, and of the rapture of the Bride of Christ - with the last 7 years about to dawn - during which this ANTICHRIST will be fully revealed - and at the end of that 7 year period - in 5777 - when Jesus will return with all His beloveds to set up His Kingdom in FULL on this earth.

We are almost there! In fact, we are there.

The Holy Spirit is being poured out on ALL FLESH because we are in the END TIMES.

There is NO NEED to FEAR ANYTHING!

ALL THINGS are being made clear.

Israel will NEVER be removed from its land.

Jerusalem will NEVER be taken from their possession (though it will become the healing place for all nations).

Every single promise of God throughout the Bible is coming into fruition.

All Israel SHALL BE SAVED just as Paul prophesied in Romans chapter 11.

All Israel will mourn when they look on one whom they pierced - but they shall then say Blessed is He who Comes in the Name of the Lord!

We will be going Through Daniel S-L-O-W-L-Y,
Chapter, by Chapter,
Line upon line.
There is SO much to glean from this remarkable Book.
Many of Our favorite "Sunday School Stories" are in this Book.
There is also a lot about Rulers who suffer from NARCISSISM, and the dire results.
Most of all, it is about those who maintain their Faith in God in a Strange Land.
The Messianic Implications, at the very end, were "sealed up" till the End of Days.
Yet, they seem to make sense to us now.
Hmmmmm.

But WE MUST REMEMBER the ULTIMATE MESSAGE of Daniel is in Daniel's OWN Name,
Which he refused to Give up, while living in Babylon.

Daniel =God is MY JUDGE.

Jewish Exiles in Babylon
Thank You for posting that Wonderful Psalm, Darth Vader!
Since the Psalms were a part of the Jewish Prayer Life prior to the Captivity in Babylon,
It is very possible that Daniel prayed those very words to His God.
