I am no theologian, but isn’t the very act of predicting a specific date forbidden as “divination”? I understand that he’s trying to divine using the puzzle of scripture instead of the entrails of a goat (for example) but the way I read “The Book” it still isn’t how we are supposed to spend our remaining time.
As someone in a similar thread put it: What difference does it make if the world is going to end a year from now? Who says you’re going to live that long? You need to be ready today.
