The sex abuse crisis reaches right up to Ratzinger and his predecessor, JP. JP was a close friend to the Legionaries of Christ founder Marcial Maciel Degollado, who was responsible for many, now acknowledged, molestations. Apparently, from reports, Ratzinger covered up the abuse. When it comes out, and it will, that both popes were complicit, oops, there goes that “sainthood”.

I certainly hope it all comes out and things change, but I thought the same thing would happen when the Los Angeles archdiocese was ordered to pay out over $660 million on one day in 2007 in one city to settle abuse claims, but it was a 24-four-hour story on Friday, below the fold.
