Yeah, calling it a ‘Hate Crime’ is ridiculous I agree, but lets get real here, they didn’t put a Bible on her desk because they wanted to share the love of Christ and his teachings with her, they are doing it because they want to piss her off....
Pissing people off is what got Him killed. It got Peter stoned. It got Paul and Silas thrown in prison. I wonder how you know what their motives were?
So what if they did? It’s a display of Christianity in a Christian nation, so entirely legitimate. If she doesn’t like this, she’s welcome to go back to whatever mudslime hellhole she came from.

I don't know how old you are but I am old enough to not really care what people think about me. I do not trust anything to do with government control. (and I retired from the military) It really bothers my father but OH WELL. It is my opinion.
Respect is earned and if this teacher is blinded by her own sheepskin then again it still sucks to be her.
Don't make assumptions about certain peoples actions until you know the whole story. There might have been questions such as “Does the Bible really say?” and one of the students thought of giving her a Bible as an answer. One Bible does not mean the whole class was involved, only one student.
And just because she says other students were doing it, doesn't mean they were, only that she says so (for the sake of the lawsuit).
