Hezbollah: Tel Aviv to be Targeted in Next Conflict

The Jerusalem Post is reporting that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah is up to his old tricks of issuing threats against Israel. Nasrallah has reportedly threatened to attack Tel Aviv in the next round of fighting shoudl Israel attack them. Tel Aviv is Israel's largest city and has in the past pretty much escaped the rockets that were fired into Israel. Tel Aviv in the past has been spared hits on it because it is believed that the Palestinians do not have rockets that can reach that deep into Israeli territory. However, over the past year since the end of Operation Cast Lead, it is believed that the Hezbollah terrorist organizations has acquired rockets from Syria and Iran with a range that will allow them to target Tel Aviv in the next round of fighting. The Jerusalem Post reports:

Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah issued a new threat against Israel on Tuesday, warning that Tel Aviv would be targeted in the next conflict. “If you attack the Rafik Hariri Airport, we'll attack Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv," he said in a televised speech to supporters in Beirut. "If you attack our ports we'll attack your ports." Nasrallah added that if Israel attacks the Dahiya neighborhood of Beirut, a Hizbullah stronghold, the guerrilla group would bomb buildings in Tel Aviv.

Nasrallah made these remarks at a ceremony that marked the two-year anniversary of the death of Hezbollah's military leader Imad Mughaniyeh. The Hezbollah organization has declared ever since Mughaniyeh's death that they would exact revenge from Israel for the assassination of their military leader, but for the most part these threats have gone unfilled.

A Haaretz news article reported that Hezbollah still seeks to avenge the death of Mughaniyeh as eveidenced by the following remarks:

Nasrallah added that Hezbollah was still seeking to avenge the death of Mughniyeh. Mughniyeh was killed in a February 2008 car bombing in Damascus and Hezbollah holds Israel responsible for his death. Nasrallah described the recent Israeli threats against Lebanon and Syria as "psychological warfare" to frighten the Lebanese people and government and to thwart the resistance from boosting its strength. "We do not want war, but we are concerned with defending our people's dignity," he said. Nasrallah assured his followers that Israel cannot wage a new war against Lebanon. "Israel has been living in a state of crisis on the strategic level since the July 2006 and Gaza wars. It can neither impose peace based on its conditions nor wage war," he said. Israel launched a 33-day war against Lebanon in July 2006, after Hezbollah militants snatched two Israeli soldiers in a cross-border attack.

As we can see from these reports it appears that the Hezbollah terrorists are not really looking for a war with Israel right now, but with tensions escalating all the time it is possible that the Hezbollah may get more than they bargain for in the future. Israel is still concerned about the massive amount of arms that are being funneled daily to Hezbollah by Syria and Iran. It is these rockets from Iran that have greatly improved the terrorists ability to strike deep into Israel should another round of fighting break out. It is my opinion that Israel for their part will strike back hard should major population centers such as Tel Aviv be hit in the next conflict. Israel has repeatedly placed a red line on Tel Aviv in their para-military encounters with the terrorist groups. If I was Hezbollah I would think long and hard before lighting the fuse on a rocket that would reach Tel Aviv.

With the potential for a heavy strike against the proxy terrorist organization, it could be that Israel finally takes off the "kid" gloves and delivers what will be fatal blows to the terrorists via the fulfillments of Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17. Recent news reports have suggested that Israel is gearing up for one final confrontation with the terrorist organizations in what they hope will be the straw that breaks the proverbial camel's back for the terrorists. The terrorist organizations on the border of Israel from Sinai, to the West Bank, to the northern border are all mentioned in the Psalm 83 prophecy. Isaiah 17 on the other hand details the utter destruction of Damascus as forewarned by the prophet Isaiah. Damascus is the home of of many terrorist organizations including Hamas and Hezbollah.

As we know from recent new articles, Iran and Syria have both been busy making defense pacts with the terrorist groups that pledge that they will come to the defense of Hamas or Hezbollah should they be attacked by Israel. This is the reason for the recent reports that any future conflict in the Middle East will be a regional conflict. It is in times like these that we can easily see how a fulfillment of Pslam 83 and Isaiah 17 could occur. This in turn could spur the major war of Ezekiel 38-39 where God supernaturally intervenes to destroy a Russian led moslem coalition against Israel.

Whatever happens in the future, only time will tell and only God knows for sure. But those with eyes to see and ears to hear can certainly see the storm clouds on the horizon and hear the beat of the drums of war in the Middle East. As watchmen on the wall, I encourage you all to continue to watch the situation in the Middle East. As we saw with the Second Lebanon War, things can break out into a full fledged conflict in the blink of an eye. With that I remind you to keep one eye on the Middle East and one eye looking up, for the Lord told us that when we see these end times events coming into focus, to look up as our redemption is drawing nigh!

God bless.

Israel/Netanyahu should make it abundantly and publically known and clear, especially to Syria, Iran, and Lebanon, that if Hezbollah even farts in the direction of Israel or Tel Aviv, that the organization will be eradicated even if it means leveling Lebanon to the ground and wasting Damascus or Tehran at the same time.
