Instead, a new religious order steps in and takes its place, as is the case with his Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. This has happened a number of times in the long history of the Church. The Discalced Carmelites took the place formerly occupied by the Carmelites. Solemnes renewed the decaying Benedictine order, and so forth.
