Do you have any reason to believe that the Heifer program is not actually delivering farm animals to needy families, as advertised?

No - not at all. They are well rated for not wasting too much money and they have been doing it since the 1940s. They have good rating from Forbes who rate charities based on the amount of funds that actually go to the end user. That said I know there are several other groups that do the same thing and I would rather not fund an organization that has become captivated with liberal ideas like stopping global warming and reigning in capitalism. There are over 2 million charitable organizations in the US alone.
I appreciate all of the Freepers who have replied although no one actually addressed my question which is do any of you have any experience with an organization that donates livestock to the third world. We are not just looking for another worthy cause. We donate lots of time and money to our own church and its local and worldwide charitable efforts. We work with a local battered womens shelter and with our food bank. I donate lots of my time, money and company resources to the Boy Scouts. We support deployed soldiers and their families. My kids donate shoe boxes through a friends church to Billy Grahams group. All great charities but does anyone know of a good livestock donation group?
Excellent point! Why stop giving to this great organization based on ill-perceived views? They are not politically biased, and most certainly not “Marxist”.
I don’t get it.
