Anglican-Catholic ecumenical efforts were going nowhere anyway, because of ordination of women and tolerance of homosexual behavior. This appears to be the pope’s nuclear option being put in effect.
Gosh, too bad for them. I’m so glad B16 is our Pope, rather than Rowan the Archdruid.
Anglican and Episcopal leaders have decided to reinterpret scriptures, chuck tradition, and embrace heresies. We humble members were given the choice to acquiesce or get out. Now, it appears that we may be welcome elsewhere. I’m going to give Rome some long thought.
"Dr Rowan Williams sounds humiliated and, I suspect, furious that the Vatican sprang the plans to welcome ex-Anglicans on him 'at a very late stage'."
At the onset of the homosexual takeover of the American church, rumor had it that Williams went against the Queen’s desire to limit the damage to the American church. The American church’s falling was said to have seriously upset churches in Africa, Asia and South America.
Williams at first tried to get the American church to stop at Vickie Gene’s entry as Bishop but he could not stop “progess” towards hell so he gave in an embraced homosexuality.
Now this has happened with the Catholic church giving those unhappy with the homosexual control of the church a place to go. You can imagine how angry the liberals are. When they wreck a church and strip it of faith, they count on the faithful having no where to go. It is like when the communists build a wall around Utopia so no one can get out of hell. The Pope blasted a big old hole in the wall.
If nothing else, this is going to give those regional leaders in the Church of England, resisting the homosexual mandates and takeover, some cards of power to play. Wiliams knows they don’t have to sit back and take the immoral abuse now. Protecting the faith is not William’s strong suit. Political correctness is.
The ‘higher ups’ may be wringing their hands, but many of the common people are NOT.
I have received FReepmail from a couple of FReepers who are making this move to the Catholic Church.
Hmmmm. Makes me wonder how many more there are!
