Unlike Vargas, many Cubans who fled to Florida in the 1960s and 1970s were staunch supporters of the embargo. Many had supported the regime Castro toppled and were driven by political upheaval and ideology. They poured money into politics, developed a strong anti-Castro lobby and close political allies, particularly among Republicans.

ELCA ain't Lutheran.

I have made the case (will do so again tonight at 7:00pm) that the elca is not evangelical (it is shrinking), it is not Lutheran (with the passage of CCM), and it is not the church (the church is made of all believers, around the world and over time, not organizational structures). It is in America, however. One outa four accurate words in its title.
