Bishop Won't Attend Notre Dame Commencement Over Pro-Abortion Obama Invite
South Bend, IN -- Bishop John M. D'Arcy who oversees the part of Indiana that includes the University of Notre Dame says he will not attend the Catholic college's commencement because it invited pro-abortion President Barack Obama. The president will be receiving an honorary doctorate and speaking to graduates.
The decision by Notre Dame to invite Obama and UNF president John Jenkins decision to defend the invitation has sparked national outrage within the pro-life Catholic community.
It has also produced fallout -- with Bishop D'Arcy not attending the ceremony.

Good!
Next the Church needs to kick out every member that voted for Obama.
ping
Pro-infanticide.
Alumni should withhold donations in protest.
The man is obviously a closet racist and should be fired/sarc
Uh, I thought the whole Catholic Community was supposed to be pro life.
Is the Pope not their leader?
Nice fluffy symbolic gesture.
So. First step in a process or is this all there is?
I agree. I had hoped for more from the bishop.
I hope it’s just a first step otherwise it’s a pretty timid and lukewarm response to an outrage
It’s a limp-wristed gesture.
If the country allows abortion, (Supreme Court) and a potential visitor condemns abortion and those who support it, in no uncertain terms, should that potential visitor be welcomed?
I may disagree strongly with my President, and he knows it, I am still an American and he is my president - I welcome him into my house. What would Jesus do?
Possibly turn over tables and run the bastards off with leather straps popping about their heads?
That Obama is president does not entitle him to kill babies through legislation he can influence or otherwise, not does it entitle him to set foot in my house.
I disagree if you are referring to the Bishop’s response.I thought it was loving and very to the point and put the onus on N.D. to do the right thing. The last sentence was perfect,IMO.
The commencement speaker should be required to attend the Commencement Mass. Maybe we could watch 0bama catch fire.
