Two years after publishing The Jung Cult (Princeton University Press), which demonstrated that Jung deliberately founded a new religious movement, Noll is back with The Aryan Christ: The Secret Life of C. G. Jung (Random House), which presents even more explosive revelations detailing Jung's obsession with overthrowing orthodox Christianity....

After reading this, Mr. Jung, I’ll be on the lookout for your name in any footnotes.
A friend of mine -- good Republican -- says this is a bunch of nonsense -- but it was an interesting read.
This “Aryan” or “Black” Christ nonsense is the most ridiculous gibberish out there. Trying to twist the universal Christ, who died for ALL of us, into some ethno-racial tool is disgusting. Someone tell them that the LORD is a Jew, get over it.
It’s to be expected that the primitive obsession with ‘archetypes’ rears its ugly head now and then. Happened in the hippie era, for instance. See: Wagner, see: the Nazis, see the potent gods and heroes in ancient Scandinavian mythology. Mental regression is a danger inherent in the human character.
The hippies were the most laughable offenders in recent history. ‘Now, if we just f*ck around as much as we like and share our possesions and take a lot of drugs, then we’ll have eternal peace and love’.
I wouldn’t think so. What we got from them was divorce, suicide, addiction, helplessness, and social damage beyond belief.
But then, they were fond of Carl Gustave Jung too. And Carlos Castaneda, that mushroom-guzzling fraudster. Meh.
An interesting article about a very wicked man and some of his wicked friends.
I recall reading that Pope John Paul I used to correspond with Jung. I wonder why?

How about a source?
> How about a source?
I *think* it was “In God’s Name” by David Yallop — it’s in my library anyrate (I’m not at home right now).
You could be right — Pope John Paul I was a voracious reader and quite a gifted writer. And he would have been contemporaneous with Jung, possible he was naturally curious.
Interesting, thanks.
I really can imagine JPI taking notice of intellectual developments in his own day and age and wanting to know more.
Now, if only certain ‘politicians’ would follow the same strategy... (sigh).
Superbly interesting interview, thanks for posting the link.
Weird: ‘there is no such thing as normal’. Now, that may have been the case in the early dawn of mankind. But I for one am happy that we have gradually come to a consensus that there is normality and abnormality. That dichotomy is the very essence of freedom (e.g.: as in the freedom to say no to something).
Personally, I think a great achievement of Freud was precisely to accept mentally disturbed people on their own terms, and not as sick animals. He thus saved psychologically handicapped patients from a lifelong imprisonment in inhuman circumstances. His big misconception was that he thought he was practising hard science - and Karl Popper elegantly demonstrated that that was not the case (as, by the way, Popper did with Marxism too).
To conclude: Jung is old hat, perhaps a dangerous crank. Freud is not, and deserves respect - but in a limited way.
[Jung’s obsession with overthrowing orthodox Christianity....]
The whole profession of psychology is but an effort to explain mankinds sin as something else and usually makes the offender of God a victim, todays obsession is most definitely anti Christ as the whole profession is given over to overthrowing biblical Christianity.
These psychologists mock God and His Christ and will eventually bow the knee to the Lord Jesus Christ at the ressurection of the dead.

No problem.
Here is how I view it:
The importance of the doctrine of original sin. "The history of mankind and of each human individual is unintelligible to those who do not believe in Original Sin. The doctrine of Original Sin alone explains the many riddles of our lives. It tells us why our wills are so prone to evil; why we fall so easily in temptation and rise again with such difficulty; why we must fight continually if we wish to remain good and advance in perfection; why we must avoid the occasions of sin. Original Sin alone explains why this world with all its beauty and loveliness is and will always be a "vale of tears". Any educational system that does not take into consideration Original Sin and its consequences is doomed to failure". -Chief Truths of the Faith, Bk.I, By Fr. John Laux, MA; Tan Books.
Bump. Excellent article, thanks for posting. If you’ve never read Reinhold Neibuhr (author of the “Serenity Prayer” . . . God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference) . . . I recommend reading him. He discusses original sin in a striking way. I found it very interesting that Jung was part of the sex magick stuff . . . Jung to Crowley to Timothy Leary and the Hippies to Goth to . . .
very evil stuff.

You're welcome.
I'll remember Neibuhr.

I hate reading this kind of stuff; but it's worth keeping up on.
I agree. On a personal level, reading about the occult can take my mind places I don't want to go . . . but it is much more pervasive in our culture than people want to admit, and is pervasive throughout the "mainstream" left, not just the far left. On an intellectual and political level we have to take notice and realize what we are dealing with.
