OKAY OF EMBRYONIC CELL RESEARCH WILL INTRODUCE HIDDEN DANGER..PROPHESIED AS 'COMPARABLE' TO ABORTION
Spirit Daily ^ | November 11, 2008 | Michael Brown?

Few recall a major article in The New York Times a few years ago on a decision by President George Bush to ban government funding of embryonic destruction but to allow limited private research into this realm -- opening the door for such research (and tempting scientists to barge through, which they now threaten to do if the president and Congress do what it appears they probably will).

"Scientists Urge Bigger Supply Of Stem Cells," said this particular article, at the top of the Times' front page. "Report Backs Cloning to Create New Lines."

That was the headline. And the date?

September 11, 2001.

I don't know about all of you; I just keep getting the feeling I need to really be putting God first more and more in my life in order to be stronger in the Lord; who knows what's coming.

The IUD and the pill are “comparable” to abortion, in that the IUD IS an abortifacient and the pill often acts as one.

How many Christians, even right here on FR, think the IUD and the pill are okie dokey?

I have definitely had a reawakening of my religious beliefs. The Bishops finally taking a strong stand on abortion is great news, but so many other scary things going on-FOCA, embryonic stem cells, uncertainty in the Middle East, people thinking socialism is a good thing?
Scary times.

It isn’t about embryonic stem cell research. It is about GOVERNMENT FUNDING of embryonic stem cell research.

Actually, Bush put NO RESTRICTIONS that I am aware of on PRIVATE RESEARCH. He didn't BAN government funding either.

What he did was to put limits on GOVERNMENT funding to only allow research on existing embryonic stem cell lines.

The Media long since stopped caring about the facts of embryonic research, and can't be expected to even TRY to get anything right anymore.

“President George Bush to ban government funding of embryonic destruction but to allow limited private research into this realm”

It was President Clinton who did this. Bush initiated federal funds for embryonic stem cell research but restricted the funding to certain cell lines (thus opening the floodgate for further embryonic stem cell research).

Government support for embryonic stem cell research is worse than government tolerance of abortion. What makes is worse is that while the tolerance of abortion is based on an argument of the rights of the woman, government support for embryonic stem cell research is based on an argument of utility. It is the notion that the utility of human life can be placed on a scale and weighed against other considerations that will lead to untold horrors in the future, as it has in the past.

I agree things are starting to really look scary! I just have a bad feeling. Then things I read or see on TV just reinforce these feelings. This morning I saw on CNBC that the G-20 summit that Bush is attending, they are talking about a world over site board about our money. This really smacks of one world government. I just never thought it could happen at such speed. And Obama, where did come from? How did he rise to power so quickly? Where did he get all that money? Why would the media never investigate anything about him? And why does he want his own army? This guy is really scary. I have been praying like crazy, and still feel no peace about it. I wish I did! I am happy to see fellow freepers read Spirit Daily. I am a devout Catholic and make it part of my daily reading.

I have a bad feeling also. I have been reading about the Marian Apparitions, and they sound eerily like what is happening now. I sound like a crazy person, but if Mary is trying to warn us, shouldn’t we listen? I am not saying Obama is the antichrist, but if he was a trial balloon, we failed miserably!

All this is real evil, like the Nazis were real evil.

Likewise we are in a battle of combat. Amazing.

People think I am crazy too. I have read a lot of prophesies from the old saints. Very eerily, it sounds like the times we live in. I have been praying a lot and asking God to help me make the best financial decisions possible. To prepare me both spiritually and physically. I trust in His Divine Mercy and His Holy Mother. They will help and guide us!

P,
Most have never looked at the issue. An old Freeper got me interested in it a few years ago, and 15 minutes on the internet told me all about how the pill works.

But I think what Gonzo was talking about is what is going on in England. They are making human/animal hybrids.

Or rent the movie “Gattaca” for an idea of our future.

Come Lord Jesus.

A lot of those old visions are contradictory. But some of the things I have read are indeed very neat to what we are seeing.

You are correct about them being contradictory. I just give them more credence, because they came from canonized saints. And there is no way they could have known how the world would be today from 500 years ago, unless God had told them. It so hard to tell what prophecy's are authentic today. I do follow a little. You really don't need a prophet to tell you that the world is on the wrong path and not following God. And that judgment could be on the horizon. I hope not, but things are starting to look rather ominous.

But things have been bad before.

Read the stuff from the fall of the Western Empire, the Viking raids, or (if you really don't want to sleep) the rise of Islam and the black death.

When I was researching into the fall of the Byzantines, I almost quit because I really didn't want to see the light of Christ snuffed out like that in the East.

But, after all that, the Cross which was trampled on by the barbarians was worn by their children. Much the same thing is happening in China, Africa and even the Middle East.

The Cross has triumphed. Jesus died for my sins, and I will cling to Him till the end. The West may fall, and to be honest we deserve to. But never forget, our ancestors were the monstrous men the early Christians feared. The Roman people are gone, and the germanic tribes became the Europeans of today. Now, after they have spurned God and chased after hell, the mantle will pass to someone else. Will it be the Asians? The Africans? The Middle East again? Or will a flicker of the West remain in South America to rebuild the world after the fall of the US and Europe?

This may be the End, but honestly I am not sure. I am more sure it is the end of the US.

From what I understand from prophecy, it is America that is called to bring peace to the rest of the world. That is our mission. I agree with you about history. It must always seem to every generation, that it is they that are living in the end times. But lets face it, if the apparitions are true or not from the Blessed Mother, there have been an extraordinary number of them. This of course should give us pause. I know things have been bad before, and they are certainly bad now. The saints however speak of epochs of time, for example we are in the fifth epoch, about to enter into the sixth. The fifth epoch ends with many natural and financial disaster’s. Then there will be a short rule of communism for the whole world. There will be Many wars with Islam. Finally, ending with the brutal death of the pope. Followed by three days of darkness. Sure sounds like the times we live in. Then we will enter the sixth epoch. The sixth is the time of peace, in which all nations will come back to the fullness of the church. A great French King and a very Holy pope will guide us during this peace. Then the Antichrist comes, kills the King and the pope. And then it is his rule, until judgment. So I know it is not the end for us, but really a painful beginning. I could be wrong, but that is how I see it. I must admit, I am fearful at times, especially for my five children.

I'm not up to snuff on the IUD; but you are absolutely
right in that the pill (I don't know if all do)at times can act as an abortifacient!

I hope more Christians would consider Natural Family Planning.
