This thread is incredible to me! I am a Christian, but Christians LOVE debate. What is going on here?

Everytime I post something, I get a reply in my inbox, to send replies to the one who started this thread. Again, this is this last place I thought my voice would be surpressed. Am I the only one upset by this travesty?
Are you logged in?
It’s a prayer thread.
Mr Robinson’s web site... Mr. Robinson’s rules
and here are the rules.

Helloooo, it’s a prayer thread-not an I can’t stand Obama thread.
What are your guidelines in respect to this thread?
disregard post 6
Act like it.
A) You stepped into the Religion Forum without B) knowing the Religion Moderator's thread rules.
Think of it like your church. You would not care to have people traipsing through the sanctuary loudly debating. In the fellowship hall perhaps, not the sanctuary.
Ah, now this is a debate thread!
The prayer threads are for prayer. They are not for debate. Your voice is not being silenced. You just posted this thread.
Since we are off of the other thread, if you were paying attention we are mostly praying for Obama to repent of his sins and turn to the Lord. It isn’t because we think he is such a grand guy. We don’t. The people praying are pretty much universally opposed to his presidency. But, Scripture says we should pray for all of our leaders and those in authority that we may live peaceful lives. The Apostle Paul wrote such when Nero was head of Rome, so I believe he didn’t just mean pray for those you like.
Obama’s views are diametrically opposed to Scripture. His support of the death culture, repeal of constitutional rights, the homosexual agenda are all anathema to God. If he does not repent, he will be judged for these views and more. So will America for putting him in office.
Jesus said to pray for our enemies. We are doing that. It isn’t an easy task and I’ve pretty much taken a lot of flack for posting the prayer thread each night. But, we aren’t hypocrites. Barack Obama needs to know the Lord if we have any hope of surviving these next 4 years.
You can debate me out here. Just not on the prayer thread. Think of it as going inside a church versus outside on the street. It is inappropriate in a prayer setting to start bickering over what is being prayed about. Outside, you’re free to express your opinion, and I mine.
Ultimately, we have the Lord to answer to & He never said His instructions would be easy.
The easiest way to be banned is to get into the Religion Forum. I try to avoid it.
Well, this is really sad. Very sad. Folks praying for Obama, the man who will be the downfall of our country, but on THIS WEBSITE, our voices are surpressed.
In my church, don’t know about yours, but freedom of expression is still allowed, and encouraged.
This is just the beginning, I guess.
Start your own prayer thread with (OPEN) in the title.
The rules state all prayer threads are closed to debate. Start a thread somewhere else that isn’t a prayer thread (like this one), and we can discuss whether it is biblical or not to pray for Obama.
Incidentally, the Kos and others have taken notice of the threads & have been watching what Freepers are doing. You may decide praying for Obama is not your thing. But, we can at least act better than the Dems would in the same situation.
If you cannot or will not comply with these guidelines, stay away from the Religion Forum.
If you do not wish to see RF posts, do NOT use the "everything" option on the browse. Instead, browse by "News/Activism." When you log back in, the browse will reset to "everything" - so be sure to set it back to "News/Activism."
The guidelines:
Types of threads and guidelines pertaining to the Religion Forum:
Devotional threads are closed to debate of any kind.
Caucus threads are closed to any poster who is not a member of the caucus.
The caucus article and posts must not compare beliefs or speak in behalf of a belief outside the caucus.
Unlike the caucus threads, the article and reply posts of an ecumenic thread can discuss more than one belief, but antagonism is not tolerable.
More leeway is granted to what is acceptable in the text of the article than to the reply posts. For example, the term gross error in an article will not prevent an ecumenical discussion, but a poster should not use that term in his reply because it is antagonistic. As another example, the article might be a passage from the Bible which would be antagonistic to Jews. The passage should be considered historical fact and a legitimate subject for an ecumenic discussion. The reply posts however must not be antagonistic.
Contrasting of beliefs or even criticisms can be made without provoking hostilities. But when in doubt, only post what you are for and not what you are against. Or ask questions.
Ecumenical threads will be moderated on a where theres smoke, theres fire basis. When hostility has broken out on an ecumenic thread, Ill be looking for the source.
Therefore anti posters must not try to finesse the guidelines by asking loaded questions, using inflammatory taglines, gratuitous quote mining or trying to slip in an anti or ex article under the color of the ecumenic tag.
Posters who try to tear down others beliefs or use subterfuge to accomplish the same goal are the disrupters on ecumenic threads and will be booted from the thread and/or suspended.
On all threads, but particularly open threads, posters must never make it personal. Reading minds and attributing motives are forms of making it personal. Making a thread about another Freeper is making it personal.
When in doubt, review your use of the pronoun you before hitting enter.
Like the Smoky Backroom, the conversation may be offensive to some.
Thin-skinned posters will be booted from open threads because in the town square, they are the disrupters.
Certain sources have been determined to monger hatred and are forbidden. Sources that link to those sources are also forbidden. These include Jack Chick, Jesus-is-Lord.com, Vdare, KKK, Aryan Nations, National Alliance, Christian Identity, the false Jesuit Oath, the false Oath of the Knights of Columbus, anti-Semitic sources.

I am not the arbiter of truth, for that posters must turn to God or whoever they consider to be the final authority.
I am not the arbiter of logical proofs, for that the posters must turn to the mathematicians, logicians and philosophers.
I am not the arbiter of fact, for that the posters must turn to the scientists, physical evidence, testimonies and historians.
I am not the arbiter of the meaning of words, and I'm not sure there exists such a final authority so the burden rests with the posters to explain what they mean.
But when it comes to this Religion Forum, I lay out the guidelines and resolve disputes within those guidelines. But I do not settle matters of dogma, doctrine, tradition or meanings of words.
If a guideline, rule, policy or settlement exists which affects this Religion Forum, I will do all I can to see it enforced.
I diligently try to read all of your posts, but am not here 24/7 and cannot remember all of the slights and parties involved on every single sidebar much less when posters carry grudges between threads. So if you are wondering why I singled one guy out and not the other involved in a dispute, often it is because I either did not see a previous post or did not remember it as part of the sidebar.
If the other guy in the dispute was given a warning, consider yourself warned as well.
If the other guy is throwing spitwads at you on an open thread it probably means he has run out of ammunition. Take it as a backhanded compliment. You won, walk away.
Spiritual maturity is not a prerequisite for posting on the Religion Forum. If the other guy is being childish, be patient with him.
OK. Ginger or Marianne? Wilma or Betty?
Thanks.
Plenty of other threads on FR to express yourself. That one is for prayer.
That is a daily prayer thread. Tomorrow there will be a new one that says “Pray for our Nation & President-Elect Obama - Day 9”. This will continue until a new President is elected in 2012.
This was/is a continuation of the daily “Pray for our Nation & President Bush - Day 1 to 2780”
They are not up for debate threads.
If you don’t like it, don’t click it.
You may not like the words “President Obama”, but unless a strange turn of fate or a miracle happens he is our President Elect. We are not moonbats.
We pray for our Nation and it’s leaders, and do so daily.
