Doug Kmeic and others can say what they want. Many pulpits in America are thundering the real truth – as Catholics we must stand for life when we vote.

Preaching may be effecting the election:

"Investor's Business Daily and the TechnoMetrica Institute of Policy and Politics (IBD/TIPP) has released a tracking poll that shows a dramatic shift in opinion that may be a result of the bishops' guidance to their flocks.

IBD/TIPP reported on Thursday that McCain, who has repeatedly declared his pro-life stance on abortion, has cut into Obama's lead for a second day in a row and is now just 1.1 points behind. The spread was 3.7 on Wednesday and 6.0 on Tuesday.

Of particular note, however, the poll also shows that John McCain has gone from an 11-point deficit to a 9-point lead over Barack Obama among Catholic voters".

About freaking time. The Church has tiptoed around this issue too long with these pro-death political figures who profess to be members of the Church in good standing. They aren't. They are in the gravest state of mortal sin if they publicly contradict a fundamental teaching of the Church and spread false teaching about it.

Either the teaching of the Church has meaning or it doesn't. You can't serve two Masters. It's time for the bishops and the Church to lay it on the line to the wayward members: choose one way or another, the way of Life, or the way of death, the path of the Cross or the path of men.

Surely stated in these webpages already, but we are “urged” to visit the website in today’s bulletin:

The Obama campaign needs to speak out about the growing politicization of the church pulpits. Obama should be slamming the Catholic Church mercilessly about speaking about women's choices and gay marriage. He needs to be requesting an IRS investigation into the tax exempt status of all Catholic churches nationwide! He needs to be snarling about the fundies and their churches as well and requesting an IRS investigation into their tax exempt status as well! He should be doing it now and as loud as he can!

(Just a tactical suggestion to the Obama campaign.)

The right to life is in the forefront: It’s wrong what a Biden, Pelosi, what Washington or Oregon’s Governor, I forget which, name ends in Ski and he hosted some pro-choicers does...

But activists have been out there all the time: and they are to be commended.

I hope we don’t end up like Canada where Christian clergy start getting called before one of those human rights tribunals like Mark Steyn did. But it would not surprise me. Then maybe all those Catholics who got hoodwinked by the big zerO’s claim of finding “common ground” on abortion will see the error of their vote.

New Mexico already has a human rights tribunal. If Obama is elected, those tribunals will sprout in every state.
