Little Ali Tuller will soon be sporting a bracelet that contains the inscription Walking With Jesus.
That couldnt be more appropriate, after the night she had on October 3.
Tracy Ali Jo Tuller, who goes by Ali, is the 23-month-old daughter of Shanna and Robert Tuller. She crawled out of her bed and slipped out the sliding glass door of the couples home located a few miles south of town. She started her walk sometime between midnight and 1:30 Saturday morning, which was when her mom discovered her missing.
That night was my birthday, and my husband and I put the children to bed and stayed up late in the living room. When I went to check on the kids at 1:30 that morning before we went to bed, Ali wasnt in bed, said Shanna. We have five children, and three of them were at home that night. We woke up the two boys, and frantically searched the house. She just wasnt anywhere.
Shanna called 911, and within minutes rescue workers, firefighters, people from the police and sheriffs office, family and friends were on the scene, combing the area. The search lasted until nearly 4 a.m., when Gibbie Gibson, a rescue worker from Wynona, found little Ali standing in the middle of a pond about a mile from her home.
He walked out to get her, and the water was well up past his waist, said Shanna. When he got to her, though, the water wasnt even up to her waist, and she wasnt standing on anything. It had to have been God holding her up. Gibbie was in shock when he saw it, and really had no explanation other than a miracle.
The search seemed much more of an ordeal for the family and rescue workers than it was for young Ali. After all, right around the pond where Ali was found, people came across two cougars, a pack of coyotes, and even killed a copperhead snake. Everybody was muddy, scratched up, and wet from the big storm that rolled through the area.
Not Ali, though, who was unfazed, and practically dry despite walking around in the rain and wading out into the pond. She didnt have a scratch on her, and her hair wasnt even messed up.
She went out without her shoes on, walked all that distance, and even had to cross two barbed wire fences to get to where they found her, said Shanna. There had to be at least 60 or 70 people out searching for her that night, and after it was all over, they were all in worse shape than Ali. My daughter wasnt even scared, she was just out for a walk.
Ali wasnt sure why she went for her late night walk, and really didnt have much to say later. But Shanna certainly has thought a lot about the ordeal, and she is convinced Ali wasnt alone during her trek through the woods.
There is not a doubt in my mind that God was with her, watching over her that night, said Shanna. God must have a special purpose for Ali. Our only guess as to why Ali was in the pond is that God must have put her there to keep her away from the cougars. I hope this story touches people, because it has certainly touched our lives. There is a God out there, and he is watching over all of us. God was definitely with Ali that night.
"This is what it means to be held" as the song goes.
It truly is a miracle, but in the future, they should put a high spring loaded lock on that slider door.
Ping. Miracle in Oklahoma.
wow what an amazing story
AMEN. And a cowbell.
Ditto.
So was the door open? Don’t think a 23 month old could reach up and open a sliding door. They are heavy. Something fishy about this story.

“Be not afraid, I am with you always.”
The best way to secure a sliding door is a dowel or broomstick cut to fit in the slide but about one inch short. You’s have to tear out the door to get it open from outside. Trick I learned as a cop. Has stopped many a burglar.
I didn’t know they had cougars in Oklahoma!
Yep. Barefoot and crossed two barbed wire fences in the dark. An angel must have been holding her hand.
Depends on the child and depends on the glass door.
Amen. God is good.
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He cares for me.
That story makes me smile.
Thanks for posting.
Cool.
A plain old broomstick, eh? Excellent.

TWO MOUNTAIN LIONS CONFIRMED IN WESTERN OKLAHOMA
The push East continues. On October 29, 2005, Ron Mills, the manager of Black Mesa State Park, encountered two mountain lions traveling together in the park. They were apparently stalking several deer that were bedded near the residence. The larger cat went into the brush before Mr. Mills was able to get a photo, but he was able to get a good photograph of the second smaller cat as it walked away (see below). He later confirmed tracks made by the larger animal. Ron has been the park’s manager since 2003
i SUSPECT that future fact checking will prove this to be a true one.
I doubt it’s on the fact checking sites yet.
You haven't been around any two-year-olds have you? They could probably figure out a combination lock faster than a safe cracker and move objects to get to said lock.
It is a heartwarming story. Thanks for stopping by. Have a blessed Sunday.
INDEED.
some are incredibly resourceful, creative, clever, smart, determined, tenacious, strong willed.
some will simply not stop until they’ve reached their objective.
I’ve certainly seen plenty that could open a lot of sliding glass doors. Most such doors are designed to slide easily, after all.
Somewhere, M. Night Shyamalan is staying up late writing a draft.
With everything else that’s going on in the Nation and the world, this is just one way God has to remind us that He is still in control and He knows and cares.
And Miracles do still happen.
Teary smile on my face tonight. Wow, God is so Good.
So maybe God flew her to the pond but to go thru two barbed wire fences and walk a mile barefooted and in the dark too. All that just adds up to more than strange to me.
It just seems to me some questions should be asked of these parents as I still think it sounds fishy.
Hmmmmm
Lots of rescuers evidently affirmed various aspects of the scenario.
The family members as well.
Where in the heck was the family dog?
Praise The Lord....He watches over us.
My collie—Lassie type—would not let my adopted todler sister pass our fence line going up to grandma’s place which was across the fence. There was a private dirt road between us but the collie would not let Bonnie walk past that fence line. Collie kept putting Collie’s body between Bonnie and Grandma’s.
No one trained her to do that.
Thank you for such a heart warming post.
Warms my heart.
mrs
Why would you refer to this as fiction?
If you had faith the size of a grain of a mustard seed, you could say to a mountain, be removed, and it would be cast into the sea.
I believe God truly did this to protect a toddler from harm.
May He Who is able to keep you from falling touch your heart, remove the coldness, so that you have a heart of flesh, instead of a heart of stone, and may you, with your own eyes, see the salvation of the Lord.
Yes, He is good. All the time.
And we, by faith, share with those who have an inheritance in His eternal Kingdom.
Great question, Spatha.
Should have been preventing the baby from leaving or shepherding that little one back home or barking its head off to raise the alarm.
This sort of story scares the crap out of me. I’m a toddler’s dad, too...
You are quite welcome, my dear. All thanks to Him.
God hears our prayers. He answers those prayers.
Father in Heaven, we ask You to watch over our children, to keep them safe, to be with them always. We ask this in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
You are right, toddlers sure keep folks on their toes. I used to make notes in my kids’ baby books when they would have near misses. Once, when my son was a very little guy, I woke up to the smell of melting plastic. He had climbed out of his crib, gone downstairs, found a Tupperware lid, and put it in the toaster oven. He was too young to even explain “why” he did that.
Mommy’s little helper !?!
I’m just glad I woke up when I did. Up till that point, he hadn’t been able to climb out of his crib. There’s a first time for everything.
God bless you and watch over your little one.
Let’s also pray for the parents and families of young children who are allowed by God to suffer and die. We can’t see the Big Picture, but we have to trust that God can, and that He has good reasons for staying His protective Hand.
Every night I pray that God will shift any bad thing that may happen to Baby Chan over to my account. Let me suffer, but spare him! I can’t imagine how I’d feel if something happened to our little fellow. I pray that God spares us such a trial.
We put a childproof plastic knob cover on the INSIDE of the nursery, a radio on in the child’s room, and take ac-powered monitors into whatever room we are in. That way as long as we can hear the radio, we know the baby monitor is working and we can hear if the tot needs us. And the child simply cannot get out.
G-d bless this little one; so glad she is safe.
We bought a house with a heavy Anderson sliding door at the end of the living room that led to a two-story drop. The previous owners ran out of money before they built a deck. I can assure you a two year old can open the door, which is a key reason why we added on to the house at that spot.
And Peter answered him, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." He said, "Come." So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. - Matt 14: 28-29
I was just thinking, has ANYONE walked on water since St. Peter with Christ Jesus?
Amen. May He shelter and comfort those suffering and those who have lost a young one.
God does see the Big Picture, you’re right.
...
I ask God to cause my kids to dwell in the secret place of the Most High, under the shadow of the Almighty, to be their refuge, and their fortress, their God, in Whom they put their trust. And that He will deliver them from the snare of the fowler, and from any perilous pestilence. I ask Him to cover them with His feathers, and that under His wings they shall take refuge, and that His truth shall be their shield and buckler. That they shall not be afraid of any terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. That even if a thousand fall at their side and ten thousand at their right hand, that it shall not come near them, but that only with their eyes shall they look, and see the reward of the wicked.
I ask that they shall make Yahweh, Who was King David’s refuge, (also mine), even the Most High their dwelling place, and that no evil shall befall them nor shall any plague come near their dwelling, that He will give His angels charge over them to keep them in all their ways. And that in the angels’ hands they will be borne up, lest they dash their feet against stones. I ask that He enable them to tread upon any lion or cobra, and that the young lion and serpent they shall recognize and trample under their feet.
I ask Him to work in their hearts so that they will always set their love upon Him and therefore He will deliver them, that they will know His Name, and that He will set them on high. That they will call on that Name, and that He will answer them, that He will be with them in trouble, that He will deliver them and honor them, and that with long life He will satisfy them. And that He will show them His salvation.

Wow, sounds as if you all are vigilant over your little one. All blessings on you.
Yes, so glad little Ali is safe.
This story does bring that to mind. Glory to God, amen.
I think you were divinely led to that child, to bring her back to safety. What a lovely account. Thanks.
I think there’ve been one or two fairly well documented cases.
Either they are similar or I’m generalizing.
I thought one was in Indonesia about 30 years ago. The other narrated by HEAVENLY MAN’s autobiographical author . . .
I think the nature of the cases was that Christians had to walk across a flood swollen river. And those who knew the river and the height of the flood knew that the people would have been well over their heads but were visibly wlking only in knee-deep water by the looks of where the water came up to them. Rather like the little girl.
This is an excellent example of what God is - loving!
Yes, He is!
Could be just the screen was closed on the slider...They slide easily...
Could be more...If his only intent was to protect the child from harm, He could have locked or jamned the sliding door, preventing her adventure...
And although God doesn't protect all children from disaster, this is a good lesson for the parents and searchers and readers to trust God...
