John 3:16 For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him may not perish, but may have life everlasting.

And you are smarter than the Holy Spirit, and know better the words that should be in the verse? Interesting.

Romans 6:23 says “The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” This verse has eternal in it....

John 3:16 then says - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have life".

Whosoever does not believe in Him will have eternal life as well...

"Eternal life" is not "redundant". All mankind will live/exist somewhere forever; those outside of Christ will live forever while being tormented in the Lake of Fire (Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:46 - 48, Revelation 20:10, 11-15).

Those who believe in/have received, accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior will live with God forever (1 Thessalonians 4:16 - 17; 2:Corinthians 5:8).

Eternal life is not just a quantity of life because everyone lives forever, it is a QUALITY of life:

1 Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said,
“Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify
You,

2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You
have given Him, He may give eternal life.

3 This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and
Jesus Christ whom You have sent
(John 17:1-3)

Our Lord Jesus Christ defines Eternal life in verse three, there He says that it is a personal, intimate relationship with God the Father and God the Son (God the Holy Spirit indwells us) that is continuous and dynamic!

Life with God, forever. That is not redundant, that is transplendant!
