MOUNTAIN HOME - The Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise said Father Raul Covarrubias returned to Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish Saturday after an eight-month absence.

Covarrubias was put on leave last September after allegations the priest sexually abused a minor. An investigation found Covarrubias had broken no laws. The priest told parishioners he was involved in sexual misconduct with an adult.

This is the sort of thing Driscoll got in trouble for in California. He was rewarded with a bishopric.

I guess this demonstrates the sincerity of his "apology."

Driscoll said the priest can continue to serve after reviewing a report from the counseling staff of a residential treatment facility Covarrubias attended.

Driscoll is a naive fool for not starting the process to have Covarrubias dismissed from the clerical state.

"An investigation found Covarrubias had broken no laws."

So is that the standard now?

How nuts is that? He should’t be allowed near a parish.

"He should’t be allowed near a parish."

Certainly not in a position of authority. If he repents he should be allowed back in the Church but only as part of the congregation.

“Residential treatment facility” suggests a man, since a man’s having sex with a woman is generally considered normal, even if it’s inappropriate in context.

Of course, he could have been in treatment for drug or alcohol abuse. Not that this would make him unfit to be a pastor, or anything ... we don’t want to be judgmental ...

Yes, I can agree with that, but never to have any kind of authority over anyone there. There have to be consequences for what he did.

“Male or female adult?”

Since that is not specified, it is reasonable to think it was a male. If it had been a woman, they would have been eager to advantage the sodomite agenda by trumpeting that fact.

You have no idea how many priests have been accused falsely. I know of three cases personally. All wonderful priests, falsely accused.

Ambulance chasing, lying attorneys!

"You have no idea how many priests have been accused falsely."

Read the article Einstein. He admitted having an affair. End of story. I know many Churches which have booted their Pastors for this - because they were Godly Churches. If the only standard is whether the Priest broke the law then we are talking a worldly, dead Church.

Likewise we have no idea how many guilty have never been accused.
