ABC News: Christian S-x: Holy and Hot

I have abbreviated the headline so that those with filters won't have the post blocked.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=4651272&page=1

Yes, it's really that bad now.

This morning I was sifting through a raft of incoming news alert emails that detailed the perilous state of the American economy with jobs being slashed across the country,

the new terrorism threats, the continuing societal breakdown that has damaged the lives of countless millions of children in America's cities, and so forth and so on.

Enter the Christians.

The headline on ABC News this morning read this way:

Christian S-x: Holy and Hot

That's right. The same type of churches that have brought you Superhero Jesus on Easter Sunday,

Hollywood actors in the pulpit, and Van Halen as

worship music are making headlines for their hot s-x seminars, books, etc.

No wonder Christians are such a laughingstock today in the eyes of the world.

We have Pussycat Preacher, Heather Veitch, strutting her stuff for Jesus at porno conventions and issuing press releases to the media about how she's "reaching" people.

(She certainly may be doing that, but it wouldn't be for Jesus with her sleazy attire and unchanged stripper demeanor.)

Now it's our new Dionysian evangelicals who make headlines for their quest for ever hotter s-x.

Hireling pastors who are so lazy, dishonest and biblically illiterate

that they have to rip off sermons from Internet sites and download movie

clips to keep their goats entertained

are now featuring s-x talks on Sunday morning complete with songs like Rod Stewart's "Hot in the City Tonight"

pounding over the loudspeakers at their "churches".

The Christians in the Roman coliseum who were torn apart by lions apparently died so pastors in 2008 could wave sex toys

around in the pulpit and boast about how hot their wives are in the sack.

2000 years of church history and in the West, it comes down to this.

I just watched a video of a secular female radio host addressing the pornification of America before a group of reporters.

She preached a better sermon on what's going on in our culture then most evangelical pastors today are capable, and that is pathetic.

In every way, rather than influence the culture around it,

the evangelical church has been the one to be influenced by the culture.

The pornification of America is now having its effect on the church with the ever more titillating, coarse, sensual and fleshly handling of what God has ordained as holy and sacred.

In the name of Christian freedom,

licentiousness is now the order of the day, bringing shame on the name and true cause of Jesus Christ.

True believers will run from this, knowing that it will not stop here.

We will live to see a day when the growing sensuality of the false church

will result in unimaginable immorality, all done in Christ's name.

When God Himself is mocked and blasphemed by those calling themselves believers, He gives such people over to reprobate minds.

When flesh is king, and not the Lord Jesus Christ, there is no limit to the depth to which man will sink in his "religion".

No, it’s not. It’s a beautiful gift from an awesome God who invented it.

But there are people out there who thinks sex is dirty even within marriage.

I dont believe it is sinful

but considering the apostasy problem in our churches

teaching christians how to have a better sex life is something we dont need to be doing at this time

I am ashamed of what the churches have become

and angry that some pastors are more intrested in pushing pleasure than actually preaching the truth

2 TIMOTHY 4:3-4

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

I’m confused. The article posted here is not even close to the one at the link to ABC News.

That's because it's a vanity post disguised as an article.

Oh, like the myth that is I Corinthians, Chapter 7?

Apparently it is not a new thing for one partner in the marriage to open the door for temptation by having “physical intimacy issues”.

One of the churches Mrs. L,TOWM and I first attended gave a sermon series on “marital relations” about 9 years ago. It was a productive and worthwhile sermon series, from what I recall.

There are lots of good Christian materials about having a hot, passionate sex life withing marrriage. Some of them are more explicit than others:

Sheet Music by Lehman

The Gift of Sex by the Penners

The Book of Romance by Tommy Nelson on Song of Solomon.

There are several others.

There is also an interesting site: the marriagebed.com

It's a web forum, so you aren't likely to agree on some of the things posted; but there is some very good info there.

According to some, even some Freepers, yes - if a sexual encounter does not result in a child, it’s sinful.

I disagree but wait - you’ll find a few here who think this way.

To modern society, the only sex that is to be disparaged is sex in the context of marriage.

Everything other context should be promoted and further, if any consequences occur, everyone else should pay for them.

churches should turn a blind eye to the apostasy problem in the churches

How did you get that from what I posted?!?!

I'm saying that demonizing the God given gift of sexual relations inside marriage is a sin itself (recall the admonishing to Peter in Acts "Do not call anything created by God unclean").

If some churches are going to give sermons on how husbands and wives can better bless each other during physical intimacy, good for them! It would certainly be better than some of the legalistic tripe or irrelevant (and only interesting to those that that don't really need it) hermaneutics I have heard at some churches.

Re-read John Chapter 10 (especially verse 10, we don't just get saved by Grace and Heavan, we also get FULL lives [woo-hoo!]) and I Corinthians Chapter 7; perhaps then we can have a coherent dialogue.

I probably won;t be able to get back to you tonight, I plan on being a little bit busy.(wink, wink).
