That's not the Daguerreotype that was provided by the Church archives. This is. You had the link right, but not the image. What you sent looks like an artists rendition.

The image at the top of this thread is likely a son or a brother. The plate is was created on is dated after the death of Joseph Smith.

Definitely images of Joseph Smith previously show a more diamond chinned man than in the photograph. I would look at photos of his sons and compare them side by side. The man in the picture is in his early 30s, tops...

Was screwing the wives of his associates merely a cover for being gay? If I was a member of the Mormon church, I’d choose a different depiction.
