in the Eastern Churches, St. John the Baptist's conception day (September 23, or 6 months before his cousin Jesus' conception --- am I right, NYer?) In the Maronite Church, the Birth of John the Baptizer appears on the Liturgical Calendar - June 24. Doing the math, that would make his conception in late September. Perhaps the GOC marks his conception date.
