It's about time these people were investigated:
Sen. Grassley probes "possible misuse of donations" to Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, and others.
Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, the ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, is investigating several major church-based ministries known for their leaders' lavish lifestyles and prosperity teachings.
"Recent articles and news reports regarding possible misuse of donations made to religious organizations have caused some concern for the Finance Committee," Grassley wrote to the ministries in letters asking for detailed financial records.
None of the ministries targetedthose led by Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, Benny Hinn, Eddie Long, Joyce Meyer, and Randy and Paula Whiteare required to file the financial disclosure Form 990 with the IRS because they are are designated as churches.

While I don’t like Gov’t investigating Religious affiliations, I must admit some of these folks can seem slimier than a greased Clinton.
Most of these people, while they don't endorse candidates, are in terms of issues completely hostile to Dems and their social agenda.
Notice they only investigate "red" state evangelists whose congregations are overwhelmingly Republican. Still waiting for an investigation of "Rev." Sharpton and Jackson.
And don't say it's Grassley. Some of these Republicans are as anti-religion as the Dems, and are easily used.
Well, the “overwhelmingly Republican” folks should know better than to donate their money to crooks.
No love for televangelists here, but I can think a lot more “major” ministries than those six. Why aren’t they investigated? The answer is the mainline denominations, which overwhelm the so-called “megas” in membership by miles, would bite back (they have millions more voters and thousands of elected officials).
The “megas,” meantime, probably barely add up to a million or two nationwide. Easy pickings and a scary name. A good place for a megalomaniac politician to start making a name for himself.
“Most of these people, while they don’t endorse candidates, are in terms of issues completely hostile to Dems and their social agenda.”
Another good point. I didn’t see Rick Warren in that list. Or Sharpton’s “ministry.” Or Operation Push.
Grassley is hardly anti-religious.
I agree, and besides, everyone and their dog has been warned to check out how charities spend their money before they give to a cause. For me, at least, I wouldn’t give any money until I had that information and if it wasn’t available I’d figure there was a good reason and keep my money or send it to another charity.

If he’s doing this, he sure is.
Slander. You don’t have a clue whom you are speaking of. And it’s a political hatchet job. In fact, however, you unintentionally raise a good point: probably these ministers never supported that bozo Grassley.
