Don’t see a problem here. He gave some people communion, in accordance with Christ’s own commandment. They were dressed oddly, but not salaciously.

It IS very bad form to dress yourself up in a frivolous costume to go to Mass, but it is not wrong for someone to give you the Eucharist. And in the end - these jokers ate the Body of Christ. This wasn’t some kind of bacchanalian romp out of the Witches of Loudon.

+ May Christ turn them from any internal perversity +

Well, we’re all entitled to our opinions but I WILL NOT ALLOW anti-Catholic bigots to come on one of my threads and smear Holy Mother Church, Catholicism and Catholics with a lot of lies. PERIOD!

From the article: “Not only did [Archbishop George] Niederauer sell out our Lord for human respect but deliberately crucified Him again within the very sanctuary of the church that he was consecrated to protect.”

That’s what supposedly happens at EVERY celebration of the Eucharist. Hello?

kellynla - Please point out where I have attacked the Catholic church? Where have I lied or exaggerated? The point I made was supported by the very article the thread was based on. I have further provided documentation from many sources on what else happens in this church. You continue to accuse and attack without basis. The bible tells us that there will be false teachers and false churches. These aren’t limited to any specific denomination.

Your behavior here has been shameful. If the grace you have displayed is representative of the Catholic church you can be assured I would never set foot in another Catholic church. I’m positive there are lurkers here who will now use this as another example of how religious people are not who they want to associate with.

Fortunately there have been others who have been willing to discuss what is happening in this particular church and not flame those who speak factually. Thank you to those folks.

What lies?

The first such “lie” turned out to be the truth. Only after everybody got their backs up about that supposed “lie” did the heated rhetoric come out.

Some day soon these pederasts will regret coming out from beneath the rocks in the closet. Western civilization is quickly changing even though the vast majority of people either do’t see it or flat out deny what is inexorably coming to pass. One type of blight will be used as an instrument to eradicate another type of blight. After that, what happens is anybody’s guess.

May I suggest that you stick to posting, and posting within, "Catholic Caucus" threads then? From the RM's profile page:

Challenges and ridicule will occur. Expect them to be contentious, rough or even insulting. Your confession will be maligned on open threads. Your beloved religious figures will be ridiculed. Don’t complain because the author or a religious figure is called a liar, demon, heretic or whatever on an open thread. It is to be expected in the town square. Remember too that the Religion Forum is densely populated with highly educated theologians. If you are ill-equipped to defend your confession, you’ll get beat up on “Open” thread. When in doubt, ping one of your best defenders and withdraw to a “Closed” thread.

I want every Catholic here to take a deep breath and think HARD about what you just said.

Yes, I am a practicing Catholic. I belong to a full Latin Mass parish and also frequent a very traditional Novus Ordo parish. I am one of those eeeevil "traditionalists". I've been to an SSPX Mass or two in my day, although I would not go to one anymore except in an emergency. I've written for the Remnant and Latin Mass magazine. I run a Catholic-oriented publishing company. I am all over the place in this forum (check my post history) tangling theologically with Mormons, fundamentalists, Presbyterians, and even Eastern Orthodox when need be--hopefully charitably. May God forgive me when I am not.

I'm just this side of hard-core Catholic.

I'm really trying to respect your zeal here. But you must understand how frustrating it is for those of us--and there are many--Catholics on FR who try their best to be Christ-like in all our dealings with non-Catholics. We try to slowly, patiently, chip away the prejudices that have grown up around our Church. When people are nasty to us--and they are--we try to be kind and patient back. We might never convince that person, but we hope that someone reading might think to themselves a) those Catholics can take a punch and b) they can do it graciously without getting nasty...so maybe these Catholic guys aren't so bad after all.

We fail miserably in our goal of course, and we struggle painfully every day with the realization that *if we really were the disciples of Christ we claim to be* then there would be no *need* for theological disputes, because everyone would be beating down the doors to get in and spend time with such holy, loving people. But alas, we are sinful wretches and have to rely on our puny human intellects instead of hearts on fire with God.

Our miserable efforts to show the divine authority of the Church are pathetic as it is. If we add insulting honest people to the list, then God have pity on us if we expect anyone to take Catholicism seriously.

Why does World Net Daily care about Catholic issues? Last I checked, they provide quite the soapbox for the anti-Catholic Hal Lindsey.

Well then I shouldn’t have to point out to you that there were posts made on this thread accusing the Catholic Church of “misguided teachings” and
“I prefer the bible for my doctrine” among others but they have been deleted.
