Christianity is a heresy of Judaism.
Judism is a heresy of the Earth Mother-Sky Father religion.
Or, if you prefer, there were no heresies until the council of Nicea defined Orthodoxy, and Christianity became the state religion of the Roman Empire.

Actually, one of the reasons for the Council was the Arian heresy.

"Judism is a heresy of the Earth Mother-Sky Father religion."
When I was in college, one of my buddies, a Jewish guy, dated a girl called "Earth Mother", a large woman. I doubt she's the one you're referring to, though, as they never fought about religion, at least she never called him a heretic.

This is nonsense. Heresy has nothing to do with the power of the state.
Towards the end of the second century, St Ireneus of Lyons wrote his "Against Heresies".
Great work if there are no heresies!
