The contemporary liturgy celebrates the whole earth as a sacred space by integrating recorded sounds such as the calls of wolves, whales, eagles and seals."

I wonder if this means they're Creationists. Why else would anything think the earth is sacred, except that each little bit was purpose-built (as it were) by God?

You can hear excepts of the Missa Gaia HERE. One COULD interpret "Gaia" imply as a poetic personification,in the same sense as the the third chapter of Daniel:

Sun and moon, bless the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever.
Stars of heaven, bless the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever. Etc. etc.

If that's the case, I could enjoy this stuff, perhaps after a glass of wine or two, and lying on the floor (if my arthritic joints permit.) Hey. I'm allowed to be a little outre if I like.

It's like Lennie Bernstein's Mass: a Theatre Piece for Singers. It's art. It's interesting. It might be beautiful in its way. But Liturgy isn;t just anything you want it to be. And no, it's not Liturgy.
