Do you know what the word, "Mar" or "mar" means?

It means saint.

The Hebrew word מר. Mar means : Mr. Mister Sir. Man . As an adjective it means also "bitter" Mariam מרימ for instance means "bitter sea " ימ means sea. Rivka BTW when I lived in Israel and in Europe the Catholic and Maronite Church had the Feast Day of Saint Charbel on the 24th of December. so why did they change that. That changing of dates for the Feast Days of Saints is very confusing. we keep celebrating Charbel on the24th of December, my husband's birth date.
