Rabbi Amar to Pope: Thwart J'lem gay parade
Ynetnews ^ | 07/05/06 | Neta Sela

Sephardic Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar on Tuesday sent a letter to The Holy See. What's in the letter? Neither a request for world peace nor a common prayer for merging Judaism and Christianity into one faith. In the letter, the rabbi asks Pope Benedict 16 to assist in efforts "to thwart the event of the world gay parade which will take place next month in Jerusalem."

The city which the entire world looks up to due to its holiness and glory, is now being attacked by evil people who wish to violate its honor and humiliate its greatness with deeds that the Torah despises, as well as all other religions.

'Nuff said.

Rome also is under attack by these gay groups. This weekend, the Pope is going to Valencia, Spain for a big gathering of Christian families and people involved in family education, counseling, etc. The Spanish government - which hates the Catholic Church and has been using gays and gay marriage as a way of attacking the Church - scheduled a "gay family conference" in Valencia, 100% paid for by Spanish public funds, so that it would almost overlap the Pope's visit. One of the announced activities at the "gay family conference" sponsored by the Spanish government was a big parade and demonstration outside of Valencia's cathedral.

I think it is very disturbing, not only to see how these gay groups are attacking orthodox Jews, the Church and other orthodox Christian groups, but the way they are being used by hostile forces (such as the Socialists in Spain) as another means of their overall attack. I bet there are also aggressive non-gay leftists encouraging the gay parade in Jerusalem, because they see it as a perfect way of attacking orthodox belief and morality - which they hate.

Nobody's suggested a change of venue to Mecca yet?

(IsraelNN.com) The Vatican’s representative to Israel, Monsignor Antonio Franco met with Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski, at which time he expressed the pope’s concerns regarding August’s scheduled International Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem.

Franco stated the church is adamantly opposed to the march being held in the Holy City, which has religious significance to three religions. He called it “the few imposing their will on the majority,” adding he is working in concert with Jewish and Muslim clergymen to prevent the parade from taking place.

And here is what you can expect if the parade is allowed to take place.

A painted man holds the republican colors in the Gay Pride march in Madrid. Organizers said more than 1.5 million people took part in the Spanish capital's gay pride march, a week before the country's first visit by Pope Benedict XVI.(AFP/Bru Garcia)

And here is why they want to march ....

Participants at the 2005 Gay Pride march in Madrid. Spanish homosexual groups said their Gay Pride march next week would be "to defend all families", in a dig at the Catholic World Meeting of Families to be attended by the pope later in July.(AFP/File/Pierre-Philippe Marcou)

Smug, defiant and "in your face" .... that's what this is all about.

As I put it in a couple of Alouette's postings on the "parade", they should send all these poofters to Gaza and let them "parade" there. See how well it would go over!

Somehow, I don't think the homosexuals are going to cancel their parade because the pope says they should.

The Pope should call a news conference and call upon the world to condemn this planned affront to civilization and call upon the self absorbed organizers of the parade to do some soul searching and cancel this base affront to most of the world.

Does anyone know whether there has ever been a papal encyclical on the topic of homosexual behavior?

Thanks for the referral to the Vatican website, where there are a number of fascinating documents relating to homosexual behavior.
