The only controversy seems to come from those more interested in sowing discord.

Ain't that the truth. If I'd known this was a "my Bible's better than YOUR Bible" thread, I would have avoided it like the plague.

sowing discord

Au contraire!

Discord can only be sown by those who seek to destroy the Word of God, not by those who proclaim it's significance!

Yes, but there's no plague in my Bible...

The title should have given it away. There are those hereon who will gravitate to any thread even remotely close to speaking about Scripture such that rants can be shoehorned in about the quality of the translation involved. That quickly rushes into the KJV pontifications and the fierce attacks on all other translations.

Reason, as well as brotherly love flies out the window at the speed of light.

I love the KJV. My memory of Scripture is in the KJV. When I search at the websites, I have to search in KJV because that's what I remember verses in.

but I do not WORSHIP the KJV.

And, just as reading Scripture in another language is enlightening, so is every different translation. God's Word is plenty robust to faithfully convey what we need to know to have a growing close relationship with Him and make Heaven our home and treat others as we should.

Prissy-ness about other issues comes across to me as just that--or worse--paragonly petty prissy-ness.

I think God must groan in grieved tears over such, when He isn't laughing at such foolisness.
