Why is this important, I'm a born again Christian. This book is fiction, if people want to read a fiction book than let them. I think both sides of this debate are overreacting a little.

The whackos who think it is history and not fiction are off the rocker, and the ones who want to burn it because they are afraid people think it's real are just plain overreacting.

Just my two cents though.

There are plenty of people looking for an excuse not to believe (many on this forum, in fact). The possibility that this might be true will satisfy their skepticism for a while longer. If you are kingdom-minded you will realize that this movie will probably tip more fence sitters over to the other side. Granted they probably would have been weak believers also, but in an eternal sense it's better for them to be in than out if you know what I mean.

No one I have seen is calling for mass book burnings. However, I have personally met people who think the Da Vinci Code is real. And they are not bad people, nor are they Christ- or Christian-haters. They are ignorant of Christian doctrine, however.

Doesn't it bother you that a book like this could lead people away> from the true Christ? I don't see anyone saying that the Da Vinci Code is bringing them to orthodox Christianity.
