Plant Experiments
My overcrowded inbox | A day or two ago | Rev. Muata Rasuli

This came to me today via email. I thought it was very interesting. (The text of the email follows.)

A friend of mine was raising Wheat Grass and decided to try an experiment that anyone can duplicate with relative ease.

She had three trays of Wheat Grass.

Tray A: She prayed for and sang to and had nothing but good things to say about.

Tray B: She spoke to in the same manner that her grandmother addressed her as a child. This amounted to incessant criticism, shame and blame. To make it even more realistic she had to curse the grass several times a day.

Tray C: She completely ignored.

The woman was curious about the negative communications she was reared with and how it was effecting her health.

I am sure that most of us here could predict that the grasses that were prayed for and sang to (Control Group A) grew faster, taller and more vibrant than any of the other grasses.

The grasses that had been spoken to harshly and admonished all day long (Control Group B) had a stunted growth and looked ill or weak by comparison to the other two control groups

The tray of grasses that were ignored grew at what could be called a normal rate producing a normal yield. (Control Group C)

I am sure that most of us here could have predicted this.

What was unexpected was that Control Group B had been placed between the other two groups. The other two groups of grass were growing in such a fashion that they appeared to be sheltering or attempting to nurture the group receiving the harsh treatment.

Control Groups A and C were quite literally growing toward one another, one leaning to the left the other leaning towards the right with Control Group B cowering between them.

It seemed the plants knew to whom she was talking and when and responded in kind.

This is simple enough for anyone to duplicate if you don't mind traumatizing some plants.

Interesting experiment in the power of our thoughts and words. If words do this to plants, what do they do in our lives?

IN the 1970's there was a woman who was a "pioneer of the alternative health field" who grew large quantities of wheat grass. She was the person who performed these experiments supposedly. Dr. Ann (or Anne) Wigmore is her name I believe.

For absolutely sure!

Sure is interesting that God seems to have set it up such that our words have incredible power--especially in the lives of small children--but, really, routinely.

If I do this with jalapenos and cilantro should I speak Spanish? I just hope that the veggie plants in my garden understand that I'm swearing at the crabgrass and weeds!!

Yes, very interesting.

Now, if our words affect plants like this, what do oyu suppose they do in our lives?

Our words probably have more influence on our lives and the lives around us than even the alert amongst us discern.

Eternity will be much more revealing on that score, imho. All be it a bit late for many amongst us.
