My disgust has already turned to anger. I can picture the liberals now. "This is a signal from the Holy Father that he likes the way the bishops are handling 'the crisis.' It also signals that the pope agreed with the way McCarrick handled the pro-abortion politicians." And I think there's no way I could disagree with these statements.

Gregory was cc'd in on Ratzinger's letter to McCarrick and he sat silently while McCarrick misrepresented it to the entire assembly of bishops. I will need to pray to prevent my anger from turning to bitterness.

Maybe the archbishop job is the payoff for his silence. I Imagine McCarrick had influence in picking the new archbishop. He is the closest cardinal to Atlanta.

I agree with you totally.

I am also going to write a letter to the Holy Father and cc Hoyos,Ratzinger,Arrinze and Re,expressing my profound sadness with his choice of a man,who at the very best is a "weak sister".

I know the effects of a letter from a "nobody" from Phoenix, that will be read by some faceless clerks in the Vatican, will be miniscule,if not less. Nonetheless,I will know that I transmitted a small particle of truth, addressed to those who Jesus Christ charged with keeping and spreading His Truth.

And most important I will just keep praying.
