JESUS IS COMING FOR A BRIDE - ONE, not a harem of brides. His bride must be a resting place for her husband - Psalm 32:4,5,8. She must be a beautiful ONE. She is being cleansed and prepared now.The bride of Chrit is perfect in His eyes, not because of some "inner healing", but only because of what He has done for us. We are already righteous. There is nothing more beautiful than that.
These modern day prophets should be avoided like the plague.
Well, you must admit with all the pre-tribbers (esp. the bad hair dudes on TV) running around "predicting" Jesus's soon return, it gets a bit tiring after a while, especially to an outsider.
Then layer on top of that all the bad fiction (e.g., Left Behind series) being put out by Christian authors and the criticisms become understandable.
He did send Jesus for that, But also the End Times prophecies as well. If God, by putting the end times prophecies in his word to get people's attention as well. God does not wnat anybody left behind when the Rapture comes. That's why Jesus and the end-times prophecies are two of the methods God uses to get humanity's attention and get them to see the truth before it ultimately is too late.
Enjoy your cheeky perspective while you can.
Who on earth are you talking about?
I am familiar with the Maitraya junk.
I've never heard or read of John S claiming to be Jesus.
There is some Biblical passage about all Believers being as Christ to the hurting world.
I don't expect John S to be perfect. He's certainly still human.
I love his candor and vulnerability in his writings.
I don't really pay much attention to Steyn.
I try and take Scriptures at face value, more literally more often than not.
I collect a LOT of puzzle pieces from a wide diversity of sources. I wait to see what God confirms in a variety of ways, especially by fulfillment.
I also have my own impressions and track record to factor in about future events.
And, there's various intensities of impressions from myself and people known to me to be mostly reliable. There's various diversities of disconnected sources that can be impressive when most say the same thing without contact.
Of course, there's Scripture. But it tends to be fairly cryptic and not overly specific much of the time.
Anyway--I think the MAIN issue is to seek God; seek His Face; LISTEN TO CHRIST'S SPIRIT AS HE DIRECTED WHEN NOTING THAT "MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE;" WALK CLOSE TO GOD; PRAY EARNESTLY . . . work while there is light.
THOSE ARE THE MAIN POINTS of Scripture and prophecy, it seems to me. Certainly Scripture also instructs us to BE PREPARED in whatever ways God directs individuals to be prepared.
LOL.
I don't think that thoughtful dialogue on the topic has more than a 0.00000000000000000000000000000001% chance of enlightening you in the least.
I can certainly understand him calling her the more sensible one.
I've been in their home during a sabbatical of theirs.
I'm blessed by their vulnerability and by their excellent writing--which describes a spiritual and other reality which I have great resonance with. They have described things I've known for a long time much better than most other authors and sources. Some things which others didn't touch on at all or very accurately.
So, they resonate with life as I know it.
I don't exepct them to be perfect. I've never found anyone perfect but Christ.
I do think God is moving all of us toward His refined tools for a most crucial time in history. All of us have stumbled along that path and many of us very seriously and very repeatedly. God's Grace; Christ's Blood is sufficient for all of us. Otherwise, there'd be no hope.
I have no doubt that you know a
LOT
about being a plague.
Have you enjoyed being a gnat for a lot of years?
Some food for thought, with the growing divide in our country I am sure that many of the liberal secularists would welcome The RAPTURE imagine no christians on earth just a bunch of heathens running the world as they see fit....Who Knows maybe that could happen...
It is sad, though, that the distractors; the naysayers have more spunk and assertiveness hereon than the authentic believers who trust God and believe His Word in such matters.
Thankfully, God will be winding things up more and more dramatically in His behalf. I'm just not real thrilled at the counter-point to that on satan's side!
We do live in most interesting times and the curtain has yet to really go up on the main show.
Thanks for your kind post.
Blessings,
I profess that that Jesus is Lord. Are you saying that if I hold one of the more traditional views of eschatology (amillenniumism) I am doomed?
NO one is to know the return of Jesus but we are to be ready and be able to look at the world and see some of prophecy un-fold..
To me The "Passion of the Christ" open the flood gates to the entire world that GOD is real his message is real and the world has a choice to accept or reject....
I haven't followed the heffer stuff for some time.
My memory is that the first heffer was found to have a small flaw and was rejected. I don't know if the seller had tried to cover up the flaw or not but I think they had.
I recall reading later that a red heffer had been found which had no flaws and everything was back on track. That's the last I recall reading about it.
I also read the Bible in literal, historical, and grammartical way as well, and I accept the fulfillment of a lot of prophetic events beyond most people's comprehension in the future. However, I believe all possible explanations must be grounded on truthful data and senible analysis as well. We can't go on and prattle fantatic "sign of the times" discovery based on MSM reportings only to discover they are cooked up information.
This is the reason I took note of good commentators like Mark Steyn, Victor Davis Hanson, (Hong Kong's) Tao Kit. Christian commentators on current affairs tend to lack the ability of looking at various facets of data and adopt a critical look at them.
And because iniquity shall abode, the love of many shall wax cold." Matthew 24:12
"But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; and avoid such men as these." 2Timothy 3:1-5
If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you... If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you... because they do not know Him who sent Me." John 15: 18-21
"I don't think that thoughtful dialogue on the topic has more than a 0.00000000000000000000000000000001% chance of enlightening you in the least."
I think you're right, but I did find it really amusing that some "felt God had allowed it (Y2K) as a dry run" ... as if God allows or disallows design flaws in computers ...
Take Care...
I have stated frequently that I have a strong belief that where Scripture allows different earnest, authentic believers to come to different good faith conclusions on a matter, THAT GOD IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY TO BE VERY PUNATIVE TO EITHER SIDE.
He's just a much bigger and much more fair God than that.
Our perspectives as well as mental and spiritual capacities are decidedly limited. We ALL see through the glass darkly.
Goodness! what a silly idea anyone would think I would hold.
Sigh.
