It's good to see that even the Austrian republican government is not totally indifferent to the country's imperial heritage. A question to ponder: why does the government continue to require any Hapsburgs wishing to return to Austrian soil to renounce their claims to the throne? Are they still afraid of a restoration? Of course, no "renunciation" can prevent monarchists the world over from regarding Archduke Otto as the
de jure Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary.
Here's hoping that next month's beatification will encourage appreciation of the Hapsburgs in Austria & Hungary and throughout the world. On to restoration!
