Let my prayer help to hold those pieces which are YOU ... together, my dearest friend. God has so greatly blessed you with His suffering ... we can only accept and thank Him for His Eternal Presence!

This will live in your memory as a glorious, but wrenching day in your life! You watched Vince enter Eternity, you held him in your arms -- you are blessed!

Words are difficult ... and all seem trite, especially for the most "UN" trite person I know and love.`

I will not be back to FreeRepublic for a great while.

Please don't go away! Let friends here help, and that includes Protestants. May God lift you in His Arms and hold you tight until you can stand on your feet again. I praise God for Vincent's spirit which is now with Him. May all your tears be wiped away with the memory all your good times with Vincent and the joy you know he now has. God be with you, dear Siobhan.

Please remember that God has a purpose for you yet in this world and I pray that He shows it to you soon. One day we'll all understand why things are what they are, and when all is said and done, we have to trust God like little children. As dark as it is, know that He's present with you and won't abandon you.

Words are insufficient, Siobhan, to convey the grief I share with you. Our God enriched your life with the gift of Vince. Now heaven will be enriched by the gifts you imbued in your son.

Saint Ephrem's Prayer
for Strength in Weakness

Lord Jesus Christ,
King of kings,
you have power over life and death.
You know even things
that are uncertain and obscure,
and our very thoughts and feelings
are not hidden from you.
Cleanse me from my secret faults,
for I have done wrong
and you saw it.
You know how weak I am,
both in soul and in body.
Give me strength, O Lord, in my frailty
and sustain me in my sufferings.
Grant me a prudent judgement, Dear Lord,
and let me always be mindful of your blessings.
Until the end, let me retain your grace
that has protected me util now.

AMEN!

Oh Siobhan, words fail us. You've been given the cruelest cross of all and must now bury your own son. You, your father and the rest of your family and most especially your beloved Vincent will be in our prayers.

We have a special devotion to St. Vincent, whose feast day is January 22. We will pray that your father and St. Vincent will greet your son in his eternal home.

We will have a Mass offered for him.

God Bless You,

Fran and Ed

Siobhan, I am so sorry to hear that. You are a real blessing to FR and are one of those people I think many Freepers feel especially fond of - and that extends to your entire family.

Prayers for Vincent, who is now beyond all betrayals and evil and suffering; his hope has been realized and the Lord has healed all his wounds.

Prayers for you, to our Lord, and to the Blessed Mother, that she may comfort you as another mother.

May God hold you close to him now, and give you peace and strength. May you know that your son and your father are in a much better place now, in Jesus' name.

May Christ support us all the day long,
till the shadows lengthen,
and the evening comes,
and the busy world is hushed,
and the fever of life is over
and our work is done.
Then in his mercy
may he give us a safe lodging,
and holy rest and peace at the last.

Amen.

I am so sorry. The Lord comfort you.

No one understands like Jesus, every woe He sees and feels;
Tenderly He whispers comfort, and the broken heart He heals.

Hevenly Father, please heal the broken heart of your servant Siobhan who has suffered the greatest loss of all - the loss of a child. You understand this saddest of losses as You and your holy daughter the Blessed Virgin Mary suffered the same loss.

Allow Siobhan's faith to remain unshaken and let her find strength in knowing her son Vince is with You for all of eternity where he will suffer no more.

We ask these favors in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen

We talked about this once. Your arms are empty but your grief will bring you closer to God.

You will be in my prayers for a long time. I send you love and a reminder that Christ has promised us a resurrection of joy and life in Him. This world is but transient and when you leave it, your father and Vincent will be welcoming you to the Light of all Ages.
