Now that the movie is out and we have (nearly) all seen it at least once, it should be easy to answer whether the fears were well-founded:
Q. Has any Protestant lost their faith or had their relationship with God damaged by seeing this movie?
A. None that I have heard of.
Q. Has any Catholic lost their faith or had their relationship with God damaged by seeing this movie?
A. None that I have heard of.
Q. Has any Jew been persecuted because of this movie?
A. None that I have heard of.
Q. Have some people been drawn closer to reading the scriptures and committing their lives to Christ because of this movie?
A. Some have.
Q. Has a mass restoration of faith in Christ been inaugurated by this movie?
A. No.
Q. Is it reasonable to expect a movie to lead to a landslide of conversions?
A. No - only the Holy Spirit causes any conversion.
Conclusion: none have been damaged by this movie, some have been blessed by this movie - now its time to go out and convert the world to Christ in obedience to the Gospel and the Holy Spirit. If the movie helps as a tool, then use it; if it doesn't help, then don't!
I have not seen this film
Ping.
A stupid article.
