We're meeting with Monsignor next week

You'll be in my prayers. The Catholic Church has known turbulence throughout its 2000 year history. The Holy Spirit has always guided her through, using these opportunities to cleanse her. You are justified in asking the Monsignor. Remember that we are ALL here for you as you complete your journey home. God bless you!

You may find the following article both enlightening and inspiring. It is written by a catholic convert and apologetist.

Pillar of Fire, Pillar of Truth

Excellent article! Thank you!

If you were approaching a new church, what sort of questions would you ask? Beyond the obvious ones such as how do we register in the parish, can our "letters" be transferred or are they "dead letters" (just like Anglican orders :-D ), etc.

We've been attending this church for almost a month now, I have already joined the choir and my husband is playing handbells. Youth retreat coming up for the kids. The service is reverent, the music is good, the preaching is Biblically-based and seems sound. About the only thing I can see that is the topic of perennial griping around here is that there are altar girls. But the senior acolyte who assists the priests is always an older boy . . .
