Given what I have seen here in Albany, I would put that number at or above 50%.
For a Catholic sponsored board to say that the smoke of Satan was brought into the church rings of a similar pronouncement of Pope Paul VI before Vatican II.
This is, of course, not the first time the church has been damaged by human wickedness. There are even some dozen or so popes who are known to have done things that are "gravely immoral."
But for the board to conclude that celibacy must be better explained sounds to me like a straight non-starter. What is there to explain? It means no sex, period. Not with women, not with men, not with nuns, not with priests, not with children, not with animals, not wiht oneself. One would expect that priests who are commnity pastors would possess sufficient intelligence to understand the concept of celibacy without having to have that concept especially explained to them.
That one sentence worries me.
So, sin is now an overriding paradigm? How about just calling it evil?
