Atlanta Falcons cornerback Juran Bolden was arrested Saturday evening at Lenox Mall in Buckhead, Atlanta Police say.

Bolden, 29, is charged with two counts of felony drug possession. He also is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and stolen tag.

"He is charged with a stolen tag, which came off another vehicle that was reported stolen--the tag," Sgt. Scott Kreher said. "And then we have the theft by receiving stolen auto, which is the actual vehicle itself was reported stolen out of DeKalb County in August."

Police say Bolden had in his possession less than an ounce of marijuana and what they believed to be GHB, commonly known as the date rape drug.

Police pulled Bolden over while he was driving a black 2000 GMC Denalli on Peachtree St. and moved him into the Lenox Mall parking lot.

"Police officers just started surrounding this guy--a guy with dreads was in his car driving by and police basically surrounded his car, pulled him out and slammed him on the pavement," said eyewitness Brandi Hobson.

Apparently, Bolden wasn't being targeted. Auto-theft police officers were patrolling the area in response to a rash of SUV thefts.

Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank was attending a black tie fundraiser at the Fox Theatre in Midtown when he heard of Bolden's arrest.

"We'll obviously be supportive of Juran and supportive of the authorities and be supportive of the process," Blank said. "Whatever's involved, we'll certainly be as sensitive as we can be--to him and the police department.

Bolden is being held at the Fulton County Jail.

Bolden was originally drafted by the Falcons in 1996, and after playing with a number of other teams, returned to the Falcons last season to sub for the suspended Ray Buchanan.

He suffered a severe knee injury in the Falcons playoff loss to Philadelphia. Bolden is currently listed on the Falcons roster as physically unable to perform.

Just damn.

If you want on the new list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...

[As i mentioned, the B/C & JD! lists are going to float into and out of whack over the forseeable future, while I try to cobble a rig back together for myself. My apologies for any incovenience or misunderstandings in this time frame. New signups/removals may be flaky in this time-frame as well; please bear with me, and keep in mind you may have to FReepmail me more than once for me to get it done. Thanks again!]

I agree. It's important to "stay clean" when driving a stolen vehicle. Why add a felony to a felony? That's what I always tell my friends.

Really? I'll have to remember that. I wouldn't know myself, being that I've never had more than a speeding ticket on my record.

Hey, I bet you know Ray Lewis.
